Nottingham - nurture or care clinic experiences?

I'm hoping there might be some people on here that have been to either nurture or care fertility in Nottingham in the last year or two, and have any good or bad experiences they can share with me please? I need to pick a clinic and both seem ok? So I'm not sure which to go with.
Thank you 😊

Hi @puzzledpink

I had two ICSI cycles with Nuture, one in 2018 & the other in 2019. We chose Nurture because it had good stats. You can ask to see the Consultants (who also work in the NHS Gynae service locally). I found Mr Hopkisson actually listened to me when I told him about my awful periods & I was finally diagnosed with Endometriosis after he referred me for a laparoscopy. I had the lap prior to my NHS funded cycle 2018. At least we also had some answers as to why we couldn't conceive- as unfortunately DH also has terrible swimmers.

On my first cycle I had relatively ok egg numbers, but egg quality & fertilisation wasn't great. We were lucky to have one 5 day blast put back in, but it didn't work. None to freeze.

Second time round we self funded & paid for a three cycle 50% refund access fertility package (which is worth looking into if you are self funding). Mr Hopkisson switched me over to menopur on our second round & I think my eggs were collected later than in the first cycle to aid maturity. Decent egg numbers again & better fertilisation and I had two 5 day blasts put back in- a 'top' quality and the other was ok but not good enough to freeze. We were very lucky & had a successful singleton pregnancy. I had post transfer mild OHSS. I didn't know what it was at the time (was in agony) but they scanned me & monitored me.

Overall the medical team, nurses and admin were efficient, generally the communication was good, the nurses always responded to my calls and the team didn't give me false hope, which I really appreciated. The only thing that's wasn't great was their infertility counsellor- I though she was awful and pretty unhelpful. She kept telling me to think positive, which I couldn't stand. If only it were that simple! I did feed that back to them.

If we were to have any more treatment, I would definitely go back.

Best of luck Thanks

@nightslugs thank you. That's really helpful. I still wonder if they are missing something with me to be honest. I spot really badly in my LP. But failing that they've yet to really identify any obvious issue (IUI hasn't worked though). So if the clinic is a bit more willing to pay attention, that's useful.
I think I'm too old to be eligible for any discounts if it comes to going privately, so quite possibly we will only get one shot at this (through nhs). Which is why I'm keen to pick the right clinic. Hopefully they've got a new counsellor! 🙈 That does sound pretty useless. I'm pleased you had a positive experience overall though and it was all worthwhile. Its such a lot to go through.
