Infertility appointment coming up

I hope I've posted in the right place. I have been undergoing tests for infertility (2.5 years unsuccessful ttc, one possible chemical but may have been an evap then normal AF).

I've had the day 3 and day 21 blood tests, internal ultrasound and hycosy, DH provided a sample. My ultrasound and hycosy came back clear, DH sample all normal and I've heard nothing back after the blood tests (no idea if that's good or bad...)

Our next appointment at the hospital to go through everything is 16th August. Can anyone tell me what I can expect from this appointment? AF arrived this morning after me getting my hopes up from those who get their BFPs after a hycosy Sad

With all tests being clear and no bad news from the blood tests, I feel like we're going to be diagnosed with unexplained infertility, but my cycles are very irregular so I'm not sure if we'll get chlomid to try before going straight to IVF. I just want some answers Sad

At our initial appointment they went over our results (we didn't get any in advance), told us we were unexplained and said that the next step would be IVF. They went over the IVF process and we confirmed we wanted to go ahead so they could start the process of getting NHS funding. Our appointment was a video call due to covid so they posted out some forms for us to fill in and send back.

My cycles are regular though, so I wasn't offered anything to try before IVF - hopefully someone else can post with experience of that.

Thank you undermilkgood are you still waiting for your IVF to start?
I do think we'll be told unexplained and straight to IVF. If we were going to be able to try chlomid first, would we really have needed all the tests? I know we needed them but it's frustrating to be as in the dark as ever despite being poked and prodded.

I know a couple of people who have had chlomid but never had a hycosy

In case anyone happens upon this thread, we had our appointment yesterday. Despite me having irregular cycles, we have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility as I did ovulate according to my blood tests and everything else tested normal for both me and DH.
We've been referred for IVF so we're just waiting now for an appointment which should take about 6-8 weeks.

If anyone has been referred to IVI Chester I'd love to hear about your experience!

Re your comment:-

"I've had the day 3 and day 21 blood tests, internal ultrasound and hycosy, DH provided a sample. My ultrasound and hycosy came back clear, DH sample all normal and I've heard nothing back after the blood tests (no idea if that's good or bad...)"

Any test result done over 6 months ago should be discounted. What were the results of your day 3 test; were both LH and FSH tested together?. Re the day 21 what did they look at, was progesterone measured?.

Unexplained infertility is no diagnosis at all, it means that they have failed to find out what is wrong. This scenario can occur when the couple has not been adequately investigated. One semen analysis is not sufficient. I feel that you've been fobbed off here and should contact PALS if you were told this in an NHS hospital.
