Hi, if you're over 35 and have been trying for 6 months, your GP may be able to arrange some investigations. If you're under 35, the guidelines say that in most cases you'd need to be trying for 12 months before investigations (although this might be different if you have specific known health issues).

While you're trying, make sure that you're taking pre-conception vitamins, that you and your partner are avoiding things which can negatively affect fertility (eg. smoking, taking ilicit drugs), and try to maintain a relatively healthy weight (if your BMI is above 30, some fertility services won't treat until you get your BMI below 30 - and a BMI that's too low can be harmful for fertility as well, so aim for 20-25). Make sure that you're having sex regularly during your fertile window - if you aren't sure when this is, you can find it using ovulation tracking, or just have sex every second day during your cycle when you can.
