Urgent help required for Uterogestan pessaries

Hi, I am 5.5 weeks pregnant from ivf treatment done in Prague, Czech Republic.
They sent me an online signed prescription for Uterogestan progesterone pessaries. I run out of stock on Thursday.

Unfortunately no pharmacy is ready to accept digital prescription. Even the online ones won’t dispatch without original prescription.

Is there a solution? I have emailed clinic to post original but they will open on Monday now. So have to wait till then to hear their advice

In the meantime please let me know if there’s a solution or if you can think of one

Thanks

Hi, if you're in the UK you could phone your GP, explain the situation and ask them to help you get an urgent prescription. If you've got records of the prescription the GP should be able to arrange the same medication.

I had an issue where my clinic's supply for me was a few days short, and my GP was able to get me an extra supply.

Hi OP I got Utrogestan 200mg from Fertility2U. They accepted an online prescription from my clinic in Spain, they have a system in place for prescription verification with many foreign clinics and delivered quickly.
I think it was £21 per box of 21 pessaries and maybe £40 or £50 delivery so get all the quantity that you need rather than a small amount.
Your clinic shouldn't put you in this stressful position. I needed a short notice prescription once and had to travel a few hours to get the IVF medication at a much more expensive pharmacy, so annoying.

Hi OP
Do you have an out of hours emergency number for your clinic? If they won’t accept the prescription from you, your clinic need to email them directly. The online pharmacy Stork accept electronic prescriptions from my clinic, I’ve never asked them if they accept them directly from patients but if you haven’t contacted them directly yet then it’s worth a try.
Also is it worth seeing if Asda or an alternative pharmacy would allow you to purchase a couple of pessaries off the online prescription just until your clinic opens?

@Scirocco @LongerthanMrTicklesarms @GreyGoose1980

Thank you for all the suggestions. Sorted. I spoke to the fertility pharmacy & they kindly agreed to send me medication & said I need to post the original prescription within 7 days of receiving the meds. I am now waiting for them to send me a quote that I can accept.

I have not been able to get in touch with Stork pharmacy yet. But they said they will call back today.
Fertility2u said there are few things missing from the prescription. They send me a list but everything is present on the prescription. So I am not sure what's missing.

GP asked me to drop the copy at reception. A senior doctor will review & let me know if they write the prescription. I told them it's private.

So hopefully there should be good news soon :)

Thank you for all your suggestions

I ordered multiple meds during the course of IVF treatment from ASDA & Online pharmacy & they never asked for an original prescription. They all accepted electronic copies. Not sure what's changed in the past 30 days.

Glad you are sorted OP.

It's interesting that you got medication from Asda, I couldn't get any of my medication from my local Asda pharmacy as they refused to accept the foreign prescription (in English)and said I would have needed a doctor here to write a private prescription which just added to the faff and cost so I went with Fertility2U as they liaised directly with the clinic.
A bit of consistency would be lovely!

@LongerthanMrTicklesarms - Fully agree with you

Btw, I received my meds today :) So relieved
