Can anyone tell me how downreg works before FET?

Hi,

11 months worth of attempts to try and get to Cyprus for embryo transfer. It ALWAYS goes wrong. I have PCOS and either don’t shed my lining properly because of a poor bleed, so can’t start Estrogen, or when I do start Estrogen my lining goes too thick, too fast, or if it doesn’t, I end up with fluid

Anyway, my Dr barely speaks English and just keeps telling me to “try again” But I can’t keep doing this.

I had a very brief chat with a wonderful UK Dr who said I need to downreg and that he doesn’t understand why I haven’t been downregged before now.

Can anyone tell me how this would work? I’m day 1 of my cycle and the bleed is poor again. At what point in cycle do you start and for how long? My lining is always thick, I need to get it thinner.

If I remember correctly, I down regged form day 21, then had a bleed and started oestrogen followed by the transfer. If you don't bleed, they will prescribe some meds to bring it on. Best of luck to you!

I down regged only once on Day 22 of my cycle. They said I will bleed anytime between 7 & 20 days after the down reg (Most people after 7 days they said). And I bled exactly after 20 days.
Then after bleeding finished, I had to have a scan to check the lining. It was around 2mm I think. So I started with stimulation.

The Consultant I spoke with today is starting me next week (day 7?!) For 2 weeks. Then I will scan to check everything is quiet and that lining is thin. If it is, I can start Estrogen, if not, I downreg for an extra week.

He said I may bleed, I may not?!

Can I ask, did you continue with Buserelin whilst on Estrogen? @FingersXssd83 @morningvenus

@VillageFete - I actually wasn't on Buserelin
I took one shot of Zoladex on day 21 or 22 & that was it for me.
Then after the bleed & scan, started with stimulation
