Anyone moved their embryos from one NHS clinic to another?

I’m pretty much at the end of my rope with my crappy clinic and am considering moving my embryos.

For background, I’ve had issues with my NHS clinic since my first phone consultation (where I was basically told I had DOR based on a single FSH result - I don’t and actually have good egg reserve for my age Hmm) and while my fresh round of IVF went well, the way they’ve handled my recent miscarriage has been appalling.

I have 5 embryos in the freezer and two FETs left on the NHS but the thought of having to deal with them for potentially another two transfers fills me with dread.

Is it possible to move my embryos to another clinic and still receive my NHS FETs?
If so, I’m assuming I’d have to pay the transport costs myself but how do I even go about arranging that?

TIA.

I'm really sorry to hear of your loss and your difficulties with the clinic.

I think it will depend on your local ccg whether you'll still be eligible for the FETs. My ccg only deal with one provider, which is actually a private clinic as an NHS patient. And all local ccgs use the same clinic, so in my area, I don't think I could. But if you have a number of NHS providers in your area, I think you might have a chance. It is probably worth contacting your ccg contract manager to see what the rules are in your area x

Thanks @greendress789

@VenusStarr Thank you so much. There is another NHS clinic in my CCG (they both also do private as well) so I’m reasonably confident that it should be possible, at least on paper, but I wasn’t sure about what the actual procedure/process was.
I actually ended up making a formal complaint about my treatment and the clinic have agreed that it will be discussed in further detail as part of my review so I’ll make sure to ask about moving the embryos while I’m there. I have a feeling you can sort it out with the clinic directly as a Dr I spoke to said something vague about the funding department. Hopefully all will become clear at the review though. 🤞🏼
