Hi ladies, made an account because im a bit anxious about starting IVF and would really like to talk to other women going through the same thing!
I'm due to start my stimulation injections end of this week/beginning of next week depending on when my period arrives.
I will be on a short protocol due to risk of OHSS due to me having mild pcos.
They did tell me it will be a frozen embryo transfer but im hoping for a fresh one, they said they will see closer to the time.
I'm a teacher so I've off for the summer which works out well for me and ideally would like to get the whole process out of the way during the summer so I'm not stressed with work.
Anyway I'm trying my best to stay positive and hope for the best! Hope to hear from some other IVFers!

Hi @S4747
I'm currently going through a frozen cycle. I have a 14month daughter from my first fresh cycle and had two embies frozen so decided to give it a go now.
I currently taking progynova tablets and have a scan booked for the fifth of august and hopefully if all is well will have the transfer done the week after.
How are you feeling about it all? The cycle takes around 6/8 weeks from start to finish so I think u should be ok time wise with completing the treatment over then summer holidays Smile
Any questions let me know and I'll try and answer as well as I can as I have been through it once already Smile
It's such an emotional time and I know how tough it is especially for us woman Blush

Hi @S4747 ! I am also starting soon - have my scan 9th August so should start stimming that day. Sorry to hear about your POCS. Happy to be cycle buddies!

Bit of background so we get to know each other - I am 28 (29 Sunday) with a long history of issues. When I was 10 I had a laparotomy for a burst appendix left too long that left me with a bad frozen pelvis, then when I was 16 a laparotomy for a ruptured cyst and had my first tube removed, then in 2016 I had a third laparotomy for an ectopic but they weren't able to find it as the adhesions are so bad they couldn't visualise. Then last year I had two laparoscopies: one for a cyst and some work on my bowels, and one to have my second tube removed and further work on the bowels. So issue is egg collection is going to be very difficult.

This is my first cycle and we are in similar situation where they have said it will likely be frozen due to all my medical issues but I am hoping for fresh. I received my Menopur and Fyremadel last week and am highly stressed as it is all getting so real!

Have you discussed it with many friends or family?

beachbum85 · 23/07/2021 16:10

Hi everyone!
I'm starting soon too - down regulation starting next week with a baseline scan on 17 August to hopefully start stimming. So I'll be a bit behind all of you but happy to be cycle buddies on here :)

I'm 35 with a blocked tube but we're considered unexplained and it's our second cycle... First was in March/April and we had an early blast transferred unsuccessfully but no embryos that were developed enough/good enough quality to freeze, so we have to start over and hope for better results this time. The stress and anxiety is definitely still there, but I don't think it can be any other way with everything we go through! Sorry you all find yourselves here as well...

@S4747 has your period arrived and do you know when you'll be starting injections now?

@Babydusttoall congratulations on your daughter and always nice to hear success stories! I hope your transfer will be another one!

@Vparisi sorry to hear about your previous medical issues :(
We've been telling most of our family and friends... I find it easier to just talk about it if it's on my mind the entire time anyway... but this time I'll be less specific about what's happening and when, as it was tough to have to tell everyone the transfer failed last time.

Best of luck to all you ladies xx

S4747 · 23/07/2021 16:35

How exciting, I hope your frozen transfer goes well @Babydusttoall

@Vparisi good luck on your stims and I hope it all goes smoothly for you. Have you had to take birth control to down regulate first? I have been talking to family and friends and they are all so supportive and wishing the best for me. Really important to have that support system around you.

@beachbum85 I hope you're next cycle goes well and they are able to get some good quality embryos 🤞

I was actually due to start ivf cycle today as my period arrived yesterday but I got some disappointing news that my clinic are under staffed and I have to wait until next month. Really upset about the whole thing, my injections arrived yesterday too so I just need to keep them in a safe place. No guarantees I'm starting next month but fingers crossed, I guess everything happens for a reason.

Fertility clinic also want more information from my GP that I can go ahead with ivf as I have slightly raised platelet levels which means I am at risk of clots. It's all very up in the air at the moment and these problems have been sprung on me last minute.

Oh @S4747 that terrible... to have your cycle delayed and to find out about it so last minute... I'm really, really sorry and your upset is so totally justified! I hope these extra investigations come back fine and you'll be able to start next month. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

beachbum85 · 25/07/2021 22:37

@Vparisi happy birthday :)

Goldilocks2528 · 26/07/2021 16:20

Hi ladies

Best of luck to you all. It is such a worrying time isn't it.

I am due to start my 2nd cycle mid August, period due this week and will be on a long protocol. My first was very successful, even though were were given terrible odds. Sadly I miscarried at 10.5 weeks which was horrendous as we had seen a heartbeat on 2 separate scans before that. I am very nervous that we may end up with no eggs at all (I have diminished ovarian reserve and have just turned 41), I only got 3 last time, or that none will be mature or fertilise. Medication being ordered tonight ready. Here we go again..

I think it it goes badly this time, we may not try again.

beachbum85 · 26/07/2021 16:52

Hi @Goldilocks2528 I recognize your name from a previous group and I'm so, so sorry to hear about your miscarriage - it must have been heartbreaking :( I hope this round is just as successful for you - I can definitely understand the nerves and worry, but I hope it goes smoothly and you feel a bit better once you get started xx

Goldilocks2528 · 26/07/2021 17:46
