I haven’t started my treatment yet just waiting for my period ,My first scan is in about 2 weeks from now so if I have to self isolate from today then it would be only 10 days and I would go to ivf clinic after 14 days , so I guess I can still carry on with ivf ?

Hi, sorry to say that it might well mean postponing - you need to have completed your isolation period before starting treatment and the clinic may want to give you time to fully recover before starting.

Another factor to consider (may or may not be relevant depending on your circumstances) is that covid can have a detrimental effect on sperm, so if you're going to be using a partner's sperm in your cycle you and they may want to be extra careful about social distancing to reduce the risk of them catching it.

I'd recommend phoning your clinic and asking what they want you to do.

I hope you get well soon!

Hi @ShareLove I started injections on Monday and tested positive yesterday 😩 I called my clinic and they were great I had to stop everything and then have a natural period then start again probably in September. This is our only NHS cycle but I've been told we don't lose it as we still have the drugs etc.

Just wanted to send some support it's a shite situation to be in! ❤️

@MrsLA88 hi , aww it’s so so sad isn’t it ! I’m glad I didn’t do injections yet as I would of been even more disappointed !! I feel sorry for you !!! I tested positive one day before my injections so actually I’m glad I got COVID now instead of half way into my ivf cycle . But it really sucks as iv been waiting soo for for my first cycle to start ! Can I ask is it your first cycle ? I have 3 free nhs cycles so I am very lucky !!

Yea it's so shite! I'm just trying to be positive and be like well we've had 2 days of injections so I know what I'm doing now 🤣 what's most annoying is we've not been out to the pub or restaurants etc and I get it anyway 😬

This is our first cycle and we only get one on the NHS so before we start again I want to check with the clinic that my eggs won't be affected etc. They mentioned oh sperm may be but we're still waiting for his covid results. If we have to wait to make sure we're in good health I will as I don't want to mess up our only chance!

How are you feeling with covid? Xxx

@MrsLA88 hey yes it’s best if you get in best shape before your only NHS cycle , hopefully the first one is all you need fingers crossed !!! And I got booked back in for the very next cycle and nurse didn’t mention about it affecting partners sperm and he is also COVID positive , I hope it doesn’t affect my partners sperm Sad even though he has good sperm count . And I had COVID just about 1 week, only just starting to recover , probably will be 100% in couple of days . I count myself lucky as me and partner had mild version of COVID , I had headache temperature and cough and fatigue , nothing that made me stay in bed all day . So I was lucky but it did feel like having hangover got 7 days in a row , felt so tired all the time . Now I am feeling almost 100% after 7 days already so I am happy ! How is your COVID symptoms ?
