Any others concerned about the rising covid cases during ivf treatment?

Hi all,
I’m downregging currently to hopefully transfer mid august. I have to pay a hefty cancellation fee and of course would be hugely disappointed after weeks on drugs if I have to cancel my cycle if I catch Covid. I just had my second vaccine but it seems so prevalent and some people seem to be catching it after two vaccines. I’m going to do my best to distance from people but it can be hard. Anyone else somewhat concerned with easing of restrictions tomo?

I'm really concerned also. I had my first shot as soon as I could in June and tried to get my second at a walk-in last Sunday and they said no, it absolutely must be 8 weeks. I start IVF the 9th August so I just wish I could get it early as there is so much risk with the restrictions being relaxed.

Hopefully you're OK having had two, just try to sanitise a lot and wear a mask where you can. I would just be overly careful x

I'm going through an FET at the moment and am also concerned about this, though at least abandoning a frozen cycle is mainly just annoying in terms of having to wait rather than too much risk re wasted drugs. I do have a daughter in nursery so there's a limit to how much we can self isolate but we had the second jab a week ago so am hoping for the best.

One thing I have been doing to try and mitigate risk is buying these masks for anywhere that feels risky, eg the supermarket - they're meant to offer at least some protection to the wearer. www.boots.com/boots-protective-ffp2-nr-face-masks-5s-10292473

Hi @mouse1234567, I completely agree. I have my FET coming up in a few weeks and would be so sad if I caught covid and it had to be cancelled and the money wasted on the drugs and waiting another month or so.

I’m going to basically start isolating from others now 🙁

I started IVF back in autumn when we were in the second wave. I shielded for 2 weeks before I was first due in clinic and throughout the treatment. It would have been devastating if my cycle was cancelled, so I didn't want to risk it. It was easy for me to shield because I was working from home. Obviously it's a nightmare to shield but everybody seems to be getting pinged, so if the geographical prevalence in your area is high, it may be the best option. Also definitely get vaccinated!

So DP has tested positive this morning after being super sick for a couple days. I am still testing negative multiple times which is weird, but definitely a shock under 3 weeks before IVF starts. Just shows shows need to be soo careful.

@Vparisi I think you're the third person that's either tested positive or had a partner that's tested positive in the last few days that's having IVF. It definitely shows how important it is to be super careful, I hope your treatment isn't affected by this.
