I've buggered my FET...

I don't know what to do, I'm trying to calm down but I've worked myself up into an anxiety attack 😫

Me and the OH stress levels are at an all time high... to the point we had an absolutely massive argument this evening that resulted in me losing my temper to the absolute max 😩

I only had my FET on Thursday 😭

Please reassure me that even during the most stress you've ever been, some of you got a BFP come test day?

I can't stop crying because I'm adamant I've fucked it 😢 I don't know what to do

You haven't buggered up anything! Your embryo and uterus do not care about your argument. What will be will be. Just don't take long hot baths, or ibuprofen or drink your anger away. Fingers and toes crossed!

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31085094/ some research. There's been others that also don't show stress affecting conception. So don't feel guilty about crying either.

The way I think of this is that women get pregnant all over the world in the most terrible, stressful conditions imaginable. Think of wars, famines, natural disasters etc.
Take some deep breaths and try to relax x

@indub , @MaggieMoo86 Thank you so much for replying! ❤️

You're both probably so right and I'm just overreacting completely 🤷🏻‍♀️ It's just so easy to convince yourself after already having problems, that you're not helping the situation when things like this happen 😞

It just doesn't help either that it's almost drilled into your head from the moment you start IVF, that if you're stressed or not relaxing, it has an impact... So I spent the whole night blaming myself for something that I don't even know has happened or not 🤦🏻‍♀️ Don't think there are even any tears left in me 🥲

Your level of stress will have absolutely zero impact on the outcome.

Try to think of it in reverse - does everyone who stays relaxed after transfer, meditates, etc etc have a positive result? Nope!

So please don’t beat yourself up. It IS a stressful time, anyone who says otherwise either hasnt gone through it or is a liar 🙄

Hey, @JeOrdaannn, try not to worry yourself. Plenty of people will have had positive results after stressful events. I work in healthcare, and got a naturally conceived BFP (sadly ended in miscarriage in the second trimester - but not due to stress!) and a BFP from a fresh cycle while working 12 hour shifts during a pandemic (which is very stressful). It's still very early days with this one so I'm trying not to get too excited yet, but it shows it's possible. Good luck!

MotherOfShihTzus · 18/07/2021 12:41

You haven't ruined it! Plus - it's all the hormones. This happened to me the day after transfer a week or so ago - and I've recently got my bfp - honestly it won't impact on things! But may be worth trying to do things that relax you S much as you can (though I know that's barely possible in ivf!) just to make the day to day a little easier x

@Eggcellent29 , @Scirocco , @MotherOfShihTzus

Ohhh, thank you all so much for this reassurance 🥺 You've all really made me feel so much better already 😭 ❤️

It's Sod's law that when you try your absolute hardest to remain calm, something pushes you in the complete opposite direction 🙃 I really do feel like an idiot for letting myself get so angry and worked up in the first place, but it definitely is the hormones 😩
Everything and anything is setting me off atm! Ended up smashing a plate by "placing" it to violently in the sink during my rampage 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm genuinely so very pleased to hear that there are some BFPs in the mix for you all 🙌🏻 I wish that you have a very happy and healthy pregnancy 🤞🏻🍀

Here is to hoping the 23rd will be my lucky day, and I get my BFP 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I stressed myself so much with overthinking that I had an anxiety attack literally on the table while getting my FET 😅 blood pressure dropped, fans brought in, had to stay lying down a good ten minutes after. I panicked that stress had caused failure from the offset.
Later that night I went to trying training as the doctor doing transfer insisted I go on as normal and even said it could help.

Through the two week wait (6 days for me since I'm impatient and tested at 6dp5dt) me and partner had a huge argument also.

I'm currently 15+3 weeks pregnant from that transfer and everything has been going as well as it can so far!

Try not worry about it, put it to one side and move on as best as you can and enjoy this time. It's anxious as hell, but at the same time you are currently pregnant until proven otherwise and take a moment to enjoy that :)

Lots of luck coming your way for a sticky BFP
