FET advice please

Hello everyone,

I am new to Mums net and have just made an account although I've been lurking on a few threads here and there. I hope everyone is well and was looking for some advice please
I am undergoing a frozen embryo cycle just now. last week I had my appointment where they gave me a the prostrap sr injection to surpress my system. They gave me some tablets to begin when my periods start but the problem is I was due on Tuesday and I still haven't started. Is this normal? Does prostrap cause a delay with ur period..and if not usually then will it mess up my FET cycle. I'm just getting all hot and bothered about it and anxious 😢 was hoping someone could shed some light for me please xx

Hi @Babydusttoall 👋 Yep, prostap will mess your normal cycle about. I've had two FET's now and I bled about 10 days after the prostap jab, but it can be different for everyone. I think my clinic said the bleed can vary between 4 and 12 days after the jab.

@Babydusttoall I started bleeding around day 15? after Prostap. You normally have to call clinic if you don't bleed by day 12, my clinic had arranged a scan to see what was going on when I didn't start bleeding, but then I started just before I was due to go for the scan. Prostap causes an initial flare in your pituatary before you shut down, and if you have s bigger flare it takes longer for your bleed to come. I was also told you won't bleed if you don't have a lining to shed if your cycle is haywire and you never built up a lining that month

Thank you for your reply @2mumlife I still haven't started my period and day 12 will be tomorrow. Will call on Monday and ask for advice and see what they say. Just wish I would start already
