Birmingham IVF Clinic recommendations needed

Hi, I'm new to this website and first time posting as I really need some help.

My 1st time IVF at Birmingham women's hospital failed. It was a FET (ICSI) following a freeze all collection.

My OTD was yesterday which unfortunately was a BFN.

I'm currently unsure whether I should proceed treatment with Birmingham Women's Hospital or look for another private clinic.
Cost wise/ success rates of the clinics are all important factors.

If you're from Birmingham, I'd appreciate any tips or shared experiences of clinics in Birmingham.

I'm thinking to stay with BWH and pay for my next FET with them but i want to go private and get an endometrial scratch done at another clinic as BWH do not offer it.

So confused and upset right now

I had twins via Create near Birmingham airport and know quite a few people who had success there

I ended up needing 5 rounds which obviously was expensive but my twins came from a 3 cycle package of natural modified IVF with ICSI and that was £13.5k including all drugs, freezing and a transfer

Thank you for sharing. I've actually heard about Create from others too so im definitely going to be looking into that.

Hi
I had two failed ivf icsi cycles with Birmingham women's

So we went with care fertility off Hayley road this time round and there was a world of a difference in terms of care and service provided

I felt we were listened to and everything was explained more

Our third cycle has also failed but it's our first with care and they also do care treatment packages so we've paid nearly 9k not including meds for two icsi treatments and unlimited FET if possible from those two cycles

Hope that helps.

Thank you for sharing your experience with create, I'm hoping our 2nd treatment will bring us a bundle of joy but if not will look into create as I am not stopping until I get my baby 😅

I was meant to put hagley road sorry!

ivfgottwins · 19/07/2021 15:19

@iattc

I nearly went to Care but found them a bit glitzy and corporate when I went to the open evenings and had a consultation. Create was a lot more relaxed and just fitted me better x

iattc · 19/07/2021 19:09

That's interesting thank you so much. I've never been to create. We picked care over create just based on trust pilot reviews online if I'm honest.

We have one more cycle in the package with care and hoping it works out for us if not then I think we will look into create. DH has just told me one of his sisters friends has had a BFP from an IVF cycle at create after trying for 10 years so that looks positive.

iattc · 19/07/2021 19:11

Sorry if this is a dumb question but what is modified IVF? 😊

ivfgottwins · 19/07/2021 20:26

I didn't bother with the trust pilot reviews as it's so subjective - I read one which gave Create 1 star because it was located on a business park 🤷‍♀️ 🤣

Natural modified is low dose stims every other day and tamoxifen tablets - whole thing over in about 9 days so very quick. My egg quality improved hugely on natural modified and I went from less than 30% fertilisation on short protocol to 100% on natural modified and have my twins plus 2 more top quality blastocysts frozen

They also really helped me and and a close friend when we got pregnant naturally in between cycles and the so called specialist miscarriage clinic at Heartlands was useless - Create gave us scans and proscribed progesterone, steroids and clexane etc to try and prevent another miscarriage - didn't work for me but my friend did go on to have a healthy baby. They also scanned me when I knew I was having another ectopic but Heartlands wasn't taking me seriously and Create called the ambulance and I was taken straight into surgery - That's why I stuck with them really as i really don't think I would have had such personal and compassionate care anywhere else and i truly felt like they genuinely cared about me having a healthy baby not how much money they could wring out of me

iattc · 20/07/2021 02:05

That's really good and comforting when the clinic understand you and your needs specifically

I hope my second cycle works at care but if not you have defo managed to persuade me to look into create! I've been having a look online and they have an online webinar at 6pm so DH and I have registered our interest for later this evening

Sorry for such a late response I am so hot I can't sleep!

Babybreakfastcereal · 20/07/2021 14:39

I havent started IVF myself but went to an open day event at Care in town. I wasn't keen on the vibe there, seemed too much like a corporation business. I've read really good things about Create tho x

iattc · 20/07/2021 15:00

Thank you at least I know now that you also preferred create over care

Unfortunately when we were looking at clinics there were no open days due to covid so we just went with what we could see online

We could've waited but had already had tests and had a protocol in place so just went with care

DH and I have had a conversation today about actually looking into create and in two minds whether to go for our final cycle with care or just to move into create as ultimately having a better chance and having a baby is the goal as we are very grateful to be in a better position financially. We saved up for quite a few years to be able to get a few treatments anyway. Bit of dilemma tbh x

Hello just wondering if anyone has any experience with ABC Birmingham IVF clinic?

twinsetandpearl · 06/04/2022 09:13

@Hopingforbaby2023

They are a pretty new clinic location wise but are part of Create so when looking at their success ratings be aware that they include Creates which obviously carry out a lot more cycles than ABC do. The scans etc are done by nurses but transfer and collection done by Create so you are getting the best of both worlds in terms of low cost but also access to resources

Hopingforbaby2023 · 06/04/2022 23:10

@twinsetandpearl

Thank you for you reply. I am starting my treatment with ABC next month and was hoping for some success stories
