Is anyone else due for embryo transfer next week? Mine is the 13th. It would be good to connect x

Hi! I'm booked to have mine in the morning! 😁

How have you found the wait between EC and transfer so far? Xx

Unexplainedivfat38 · 10/07/2021 21:42

@Cat028 a bit of a nightmare! I'm having an fet from my ec withdrawal bleed! A natural one at that so its been filled with the unknown as to whether I'd ovulate etc.

How are you feeling? What time tomorrow xx

OP posts:
Cat028 · 10/07/2021 22:25

Aw no! I'm sorry you hear it's not been what you'd planned. How did your cycle go? How many embryos do you have?

I've been okay thanks. The last few days have been so long. Just waiting for updates and trying to keep myself busy. 10:30am tomorrow we'll be having our transfer. Xx

Unexplainedivfat38 · 11/07/2021 06:04

Oh I hope you managed to get some sleep!

We had 13 eggs, 8 fertilised, and we have 5 frozen.

We're male factor and had icsi x

OP posts:
Cat028 · 11/07/2021 07:46

I didn't get too much sleep! 😅 Hoping I will sleep a bit better tonight.

Aw wow that's a fab number in the freezer! Are you transferring a single embryo?

We are also male factor but I also have slightly low progesterone. We collected 14 eggs with 7 fertilised. At our last update we still had 7. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Hopefully they'll be looking good this morning and have some to freeze xx

Unexplainedivfat38 · 11/07/2021 08:07

Yes our clinic refuse multiple transfers unless you're over 40 or the embryos aren't top quality. The transfer is a 4aa although the more I read, the more I doubt the importance of the gradings!

We had an 8 cell frozen day 3 (just in case the others didn't develop well), 2 blasts frozen day 5 and 2 on day 6.

I'd love to hear how you get on today. Mine is an afternoon transfer so Tuesday morning may feel long! X

OP posts:
Cat028 · 11/07/2021 20:20

Hiya, we had a 4aa transfered today too. The transfer went smoothly and was no worse than a smear just lasted longer. My DP almost wet himself when they shone a light on me! 🤣🤣

It was really emotional and I totally cried!! So beautiful and hopeful. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻.

We unfortunately don't have any to freeze at the moment. They are keeping an eye on them until tomorrow though to see if 1 gets there. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I hope it goes quickly for you on Tues. Have you got much to keep you occupied in the meantime?

2021babyhope · 12/07/2021 21:13

Aaah hope you both get on okay 🥰 I'll hopefully be doing transfer between 7-10th august so a bit behind but got my fingers crossed for you both!! X

JeOrdaannnn · 12/07/2021 23:32

Hi all ☺️

First IVF cycle, second attempt at an FET 🙋🏻‍♀️

I'm not for the 13th, but I'm on the 15th 🙈 hope I'm still able to join you guys in this thread as you're the closest dates to me 😁

I hope you're all doing well in prep for your transfers 🤞🏻🍀🍍 Got my fingers crossed and I hope that everything goes smoothly for you, and that you'll all be PUPO before you know it 🤗

Maybebaby2022 · 13/07/2021 07:34

Hi ladies ☺️

I have my transfer booked for tomorrow (14th) it's my first FET after a failed fresh transfer in April so I'm really hoping this one sticks.

Good luck with your transfer today @Unexplainedivfat38

@Cat028 how are you feeling in the TWW?

@JeOrdaannnn are you doing a natural or medicated transfer? Also how are you feeling about it all?

Xxx

JeOrdaannnn · 13/07/2021 14:45

@Maybebaby2022 Hi! I'm doing a medicated cycle as I have PCOS, so my cycles are nonexistent without the all meds 😅 are you on natural or medicated?

Unfortunately I'm a little numb to it all this time tbh 🤷🏻‍♀️ We had a real crappy experience with our last transfer, so I'm not letting myself get excited about anything until the transfer is actually done this time 🥲 (a 45 minute prodding session resulted in not getting through my cervix to place the embryo, so it was all abandoned and the embryo refrozen)

I've got everything crossed for your transfer tomorrow 😁🤞🏻🍀🍍 how're you feeling about it? X

Maybebaby2022 · 13/07/2021 17:01

@JeOrdaannnn I'm also doing a medicated FET. Oh no, really sorry about your first transfer. Do they know why they were unable to get through and have you done a mock transfer?

My last transfer was extremely uncomfortable, my ovaries were still swollen from atoms and my bladder was so full I was more focused on not peeing on the poor doctor Blush

Thank you so much for your well wishes, I'm trying to stay as positive as possible but it's really hard after a failed transfer. I'm also dreading the TWW as I know it will be a killer!

Cat028 · 13/07/2021 21:48

@2021babyhope aw thanks lovely! August will be here before you know it!!

@JeOrdaannnn aw not far behind then! Are you getting excited now? Sorry to hear about your previous experience! That must have been so hard and so upsetting. I understand why you are feeling so reserved about this time. Keeping everything crossed for you.

@MaybeBaby2022 sorry to hear about your failed transfer. Sending you all the positive vibes for your FET! How you feeling about tomorrow?

I'm feeling okay at the moment thanks. I've been so tired and have had a few early nights after not sleeping well between EC and transfer. I've got a huge headache atm but hopefully it'll pass. Otherwise I've been feeling a few cramps but nothing major. I'm wishing the days away until test day!!!

Maybebaby2022 · 14/07/2021 06:52

Thank you @Cat028, up until yesterday I was super positive but now I'm feeling a bit numb. I guess that's my PTSD kicking in.

I know the feeling of wishing the days away lol, I think that's a constant theme with IVF as it's just one wait after the other. How many days post transfer does your clinic test?

JeOrdaannnn · 14/07/2021 07:10

@Maybebaby2022 Good luck for today 🤞🏻🍀🍍😁

They're not entirely sure why it was such an awkward transfer annoyingly ☹️ I've had 2 IUIs done and both times that got through my cervix 🤷🏻‍♀️ It was only during that transfer that they somehow had real problems because it was just too tight. So I had cervical dilation done on the 16th in hopes that my cervix will stay open for this transfer tomorrow 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Thankfully my clinic have just been so so lovely, and they comped our whole transfer. So this next one we don't have to pay for (they've saved us a whole £1,250 🥺) and they're treating the last attempt as essentially a mock transfer as it was abandoned halfway through 🥲

I DREAD peeing on a doctor 🤣 I'm genuinely glad you didn't but... I don't wanna speak too soon for today's transfer and have you come back saying you wet the doc 😂 Oh gosh, I'm surprised you had a transfer done if your ovaries were still tender! My ovaries were absolute killer after EC (I was basically a fish with the amount they got 😂🐟) and I had to wait 3 bloody months for them to calm down before they'd let me have a transfer! So I can imagine how damn uncomfortable that must have been for you 😖 How many eggos did they get from you?

Have you lined up plenty of distractions for the 2ww? And will you be holding out for the blood pregnancy test or testing at home?

JeOrdaannnn · 14/07/2021 07:18

@Cat028 Thank you! ☺️💕 It certainly wasn't the part I thought there would be any problems with 🤦🏻‍♀️ We got through all of EC and whatnot and also be blessed with a lot of embryos, to then have the one day that's meant to be easiest part, go wrong 😩

Did they let you know if you managed to freeze 1 or not? I really hope they did 🤞🏻🙏🏻 I'm so glad to hear your experience with your transfer was a lovely one for you and your partner ☺️ Your transfer sounds exactly like how everyone's should go 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 Never thought there'd be a day where I was jealous of someone's transfer procedure 😂

How're you feeling today?

2021babyhope · 14/07/2021 12:35

@Cat028 thanks lovely 🥰 keep thinking this time next month we would have transferred (hopefully!) and it doesn't seem long at all!

2021babyhope · 14/07/2021 12:36

@Cat028 how're you feeling love? When's test day for you? X

Unexplainedivfat38 · 14/07/2021 12:46

Hi ladies, sorry I've not been responding. I had a progesterone test yesterday morning and it came back super low so was trying to get hold of my clinic before transfer (my consultant is based in Oxford, transfer was Birmingham) to give them my results and it just felt hectic.

I was calm by my transfer and have felt peaceful ever since.

Although I'm now on lubion injections and they're not fun! Bearing in mind I shouldn't need any progesterone for a natural fet, I'm on that plus 3 pessaries a day!

So 1dp5dt and I'm totally chilled. A day of Netflix and zero stress 😌

OP posts:
JeOrdaannnn · 14/07/2021 13:42

@Unexplainedivfat38 We're on the same meds for low progesterone 🥲 Aren't the Lubion just awful?! 😩 I though Clexane were bad but at least that was over with in about 15 mins... Lubion has proper killed my legs the last few days 😭
FYI - Use a wheatie or anything warm on it about an hour after the injection, it definitely makes a difference to how tender it is 👌🏻

Really glad to hear you had a good transfer day ☺️ Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻🍀

Unexplainedivfat38 · 14/07/2021 14:10

@JeOrdaannnn are you injecting it into the thigh? I did today and I haven't reacted as bad. Although I also tried washing the area with soap after as my consultant had spoken directly with a lubion representative to check what dose I need and they mentioned it to her. So either the area or soap helped!
I'm dubious about putting anything warm or cold on me as I was told to try to maintain the same temperature?
Hasn't helped the pressure in my head though! And I'm SO tired 😫 x

OP posts:
JeOrdaannnn · 14/07/2021 16:37

@Unexplainedivfat38 I can only ever do injections in my thigh 😅 Used to do injections in my stomach for another health issue and realised after years of suffering with needles in the stomach, that the thighs are 100% the place to do them 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ I ended up doing all my IVF meds in my thighs thankfully.

The heat just helps to disperse it under the skin after the first hour which stops it being so bloody tender 😅 but never put heat on it immediately after injections though, as that does interfere with the temperature of the meds itself. It's why I wait the hour 👌🏻.
Also never put anything cold on it either, because that can tense your muscles and stop it dispersing as easily 👌🏻 I will definitely try the soap thing though! Anything to aid my poor thighs 😅

When I first had to take progesterone pessaries they gave me insane headaches too 🧐 I also spent majority of the time napping because of how tired I was. Thankfully I've not got either of those side effects this time round, so I think it's just random luck 😓 I'm sorry you're suffering! ☹️ The things we have to endure for this journey 🤦🏻‍♀️ x

Maybebaby2022 · 14/07/2021 19:51

Thank you for your well wishes @JeOrdaannnn transfer went amazing, a completely different experience to last time. I had acupuncture before and after which probably helped too and fortunately the doctor stayed dry 🤣🤣🤣 at EC they retrieved 18 eggs. OMG I can't believe you had to wait 3 months for transfer, how many eggs did you have? I'm think I'm going to try and stay in this pregnancy bubble for as long as possible and test the night before OTD, but we'll see how that goes 🥴

I'm happy to hear that your clinic have been so wonderful about your failed transfer. IVF is such a stressful process and those kind gestures really mean a lot.

@Unexplainedivfat38 glad to see you've had a stress free day. I'm also on Lubion, I don't find that too bad but the injection site stays sore for the whole day. Inhixa is a killer but that doesn't stay sore for too long.

I think I may also have low progesterone as I started spotting before OTD last transfer, I need to push for blood tests to keep an eye on my levels.

@JeOrdaannnn how are you feeling about tomorrow?

Cat028 · 14/07/2021 21:17

@MaybeBaby2022 it's such a mix of emotions isn't it! Hope you are feeling calmer after having it. My clinic is 13 days after transfer. What about you? So pleased to hear transfer went well today! ☺️ How you feeling now?

@JeOrdaannnn yeah, they managed to freeze the one. So I'm thrilled we have one in the freezer. ☺️ Sounds like you have a really supportive clinic though. That's fab you've got a good number of embryos. Fingers crossed for tomorrow's. How you feeling about tomorrow? I'm feeling okay thanks. Super tired and on and off my food but mostly feeling okay thanks. Just trying to keep myself occupied at the moment.

@2021babyhope it really will fly by! Hopefully you have lots going on to keep yourself busy! I'm feeling okay thanks. Super tired but glad to be in work to keep my mind off things this week. We break up on Fri and cannot wait for a lie in! 😂 Test day will be 24th July.

@Unexplainedivfat38 I'm glad your transfer went well and that you feel peaceful! That must be a great feeling. That sucks about the progesterone but seems a few of us are in the same boat. I am a fellow low progesteroner on Lubion! 🙈 Not nice! I treat myself to a Lindt ball after every injection! 😂 Snap on the 3x pessaries too! When is test day for you?

Unexplainedivfat38 · 14/07/2021 21:22

@Cat028 my beta is 23rd but I'm sure I'll have tested before then!
It makes you wonder why testing isn't being done as standard x
