Norethisterone side effects?

Just started Norethisterone before Gonal F in about 2 weeks time!

Anyone have any experience of what to expect in the way of side effects?

I've just finished a 12 day course of Norethisterone for my preparation month before I do my FET cycle. I also took it before I started my IVF cycle.

The side effects I had were disrupted sleep, i.e. waking up early in the morning and then not easily being able to get back to sleep. It also affects my mood, in that it exacerbates any anxiety or stress I may be feeling. Everyone is different though and you may have a completely different experience to me.

@Mudra85 thank you :) so far I've just had a super dry mouth all the time! But I'm only in 2 days!

I found it massively affected my mood more than anything else. Was glad when the course was finished anyway

I've finished! Just now waiting for a bleed... how long after you finished did you get yours if you don't mind me asking?

I’m not really sure I noticed that much different but for sure I noticed a horrible metallic taste in my mouth all day -I do get that sometimes with medication tho. Horrible! Good luck. I don’t find norethisterone too bad.

Finished the course on the Thursday and AF arrived on the Sunday. My cycle has just failed so quite a heavy heart at the moment. We did get some Frosties though so trying to think of that 💔

Hi @2021babyhope, both times I've taken norethisterone my period has come about 3 days later.

@florafoxtrot so sorry to hear your cycle has just failed! Totally natural to feel heavy hearted. Take care of yourself!

Op -I think mine was always 2.5-3 days after stopping. Hope yours comes soon.
