IVF Cycle 1 starting soon.. advice on freeze all

Hi all,
I have finished my Norethisterone medication yesterday and am now waiting for my baseline scan on Friday.
I have a VERY high AMH (147) and have been told the chances are, I will have a freeze all cycle.
I was wondering, for people who have had a freeze all, how long you waited between collection and transfer? I do not have regular cycles.

Thanks!

That is a big AMH @JAM2020 what's your AFC? Sounds like the elective freeze all is due to the clinic's concerns about OHSS. I imagine you will be monitored very carefully during your stims. If you develop OHSS then that will all need to settle before you can go into a FET.

I should think at the earliest they will want you to have a bleed after the stims cycle with the FET cycle starting with the next bleed after that, so I guess it will be difficult to predict if you have irregular cycles.

Thank you! I'm not sure what AFC is?
This is what I was wondering.. becuase I don't have cycles, I was wondering how they would decide as I could be waiting months and months if I waited for a natural cycle.

@J2020m it's the antral follicle count, they basically add up the number of follicles they can see in each ovary. It's a better indication of how many eggs someone might get in IVF and the risk of OHSS. I'd imagine yours is high with that AMH. Each follicle has the potential to produce an egg, ideally you want around 12 eggs, so they will give low dose stims in an attempt to stimulate some, but not all the follicles.

How did they know when to start this time? Did you get a bleed and start with that? I am sure there will be a way to induce the start of a cycle if you go months without a bleed, I'm hoping someone with a knowledge of irregular cycles will come by and tell you what that is. But people can have a FET when they've stopped menstruating altogether, so I'm sure there will be options.

Ahhh yes I did have that done- I had 36 on one and 47 on the other!! That was a good few months ago and since, I've been put on metformin which is suppose to help my body from producing anymore eggs? (I think!)

Yeah I just finished norethisterone on Saturday to induce a bleed so really hoping it works so that I can start my injections so figuring that they will use this again when it comes to transfer if I need a second bleed but was just wondering how long they will make me wait before they do! I'm so impatient!
