Super Early/irregular period cycles after IVF egg retrieval

Hi ladies, please share if you have experienced irregular periods after IVF.

I started bleeding 5 days after my egg retrieval.

My 2nd periods cycle was super short again and it only lasted for 12 days.
I started bleeding heavily all of a sudden

Just wondering if this is normal? And how can I get my periods back to normal/28 day cycle

The stims cycle can really mess up a person's natural cycles for a few months. I bled early after egg retrieval having had a fresh transfer. After that my next cycle was 10 days longer than usual (longer follicular phase and then the normal luteal), most people seem to have longer cycles after a stims cycle. But it wouldn't surprise me if others experience shorter cycles. I think you have to give it a few months to get back to normal, mine took about 4 months.

@Gardenlady543 - wow! Mine are unusually short. I need to get my periods back to normal so I can go for my frozen cycle

@Rj1988 I went into medicated FETs without them getting back to normal. I don't think it matters for them. But if you're having unmedicated FETs then you'll need regular cycles.

@Gardenlady543 - no I am going for medicated FET. But isn't it better to get your periods normal irrespective so it can support a pregnancy properly?

@Rj1988 the medications will support the early pregnancy in a medicated FET until the placenta takes over. That's why medicated FET is used if people have irregular cycles or have stopped menstruating.

@Gardenlady543 - I just spoke to the nurse she asked me to wait till my hormones are back to normal.
