Egg collection tomorrow (2nd try) and I'm feeling anxious.

1st IVF try was unsuccessful after our 1 embryo (from 5 eggs) couldn't cling on. I'm anxious about tomorrow and what will happen next. I'm a bit crampy and bloated from the trigger shot last night so I'm now anxious that I'll either have ovulated already and there'll be no eggs, or that I'll be in the same position again - 1 embryo and spotting after 4 days (which then turned into a full bleed).

Any words of advice for keeping my thoughts in check / perspective? Obviously I know I'm catastrophising, it's just hard.

Thank you so much @Gardenlady543 💐
One was popped back in yesterday and one is now in the freezer. Both were day 5 blastocysts.

DH and I feel more hopeful this time. Having 1 in the freezer means that if we're unlucky with this one we can talk about things like endometrial scratch before a FET, rather than straight back to injections and egg retrieval.

The Consultant and I had an interesting conversation about progesterone. (I hadn't seen him before as Care Fertility have a Saturday rota for embryo transfers so he had come from another clinic). I'm doing Lubion injections this time (as I spotted from day 4 last time on cyclogest) and asked if I could use a cyclogest per day as well (left over from last time) to see if that helps. He said it was fine to do so if it made me feel more confident / relaxed, as progesterone wouldn't make a difference to the success of the transfer.
The 2 other Consultants I've dealt with seemed to think that progesterone is important at this stage. Quite confusing! Maybe it's one of those undecided things.

Great news! congrats on being pupo @CurbsideProphet

There's a bit of a debate when it comes to progesterone, it is definitely important but nobody knows what level is adequate. As this has been a fresh cycle you will be producing progesterone from the follicles (in a medicated FET you rely solely on the medication), a lubion and a cyclogest sound like a good idea in addition to the progesterone you're naturally producing.

Good luck Smile

Huge congratulations @curbsideprophet I had my day 3 update today and all 6 of our embryos have fragmentation so this has given me hope!!

CurbsideProphet · 15/07/2021 22:20

Thank you @2mumlife 💐
@dogmam 💐💐 I was very stressed when we were told both our embryos had fragmentation and really we thought the worst. It just shows that even with all of the time lapse cameras and grading they're still learning about embryos. Fragmentation does not mean that an embryo will not make it to blastocyst. Best wishes to you 💐💐

Hello all 😊 I’m going for egg collection tomorrow and came across this thread/ wondered how everyone is getting on 8 or so months on? Hope it’s positive news!

We have been ttc since May 2020, I’m 30 and DH is 32. He has a good sperm count, but low morphology and motility. I have a low AMH for my age of 8. We have been advised to have ICSI.

Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated! ❤️X
