Second round IVF results with no protocol change?

Doing a second round of IVF in July with a low cost IVF clinic that tends not to change protocols (ABC). From my first round I got 3 blasts out of 9 eggs (1 4AA that failed on fresh transfer and a day 6 5BC and 4CC). should i expect this round to the same or worse? I'm hoping for a few more blasts! I've had two months since last round and made a few supplement changes and trying to lose a bit of weight but that's it.

Hey are you doing a FET or a full fresh cycle to get mor embryos? If a FET the protocol is different to the fresh cycle anyway. Also your body is in a different state than when your on all the stims etc so a different environment. I struggled with making that call wanting something to be changed as it might affect chances or something. Best of luck to you!

I'm doing another fresh to get more embryos. The nurse did say that about the FET.. that It's designed to turn your uterus into the perfect receptacle for the embryo and may even have better chances than fresh. I thought I may as well do another round while I can, as have found ABC quite painless because of the fewer meds, etc. and the more I can increase my chances the better. I suppose I secretly thought that I would be lucky first time and also because I'd seen so many posts talking about having first time success which probably gave me a skewed view, so now am very anxious about this next round and that the result will be worse. Thank you for your message and for wishing me luck. Best of luck to you too x

Oh I see. I've read that each cycle is totally different from the next but I would want something to be slightly different for example could they yup your meds a bit to get more eggs? I know the focus is mild but depending on your dose maybe there is some scope still. 3 embryos is great from 9 eggs, did all 9 fertilise? So I think it's a good result. After failure it's so hard not to question absolutely everything.

I think I had similar high expectations with first time success so I feel your pain there. I'm wondering if I had to do a whole cycle again if I would do a freeze all because potentially there is something true to the notion that the body has been through so much it's not I'm the best place to start a pregnancy. But that's purely speculation.

It's a good point and I'll ask that question again when I have my treatment consultation next week. I'm on 125 Bemfola and don't know why they can't just put me up to 150 (that extra 25 ends up wasted anyway!). 7 of my eggs fertilised and was after day 3 that went a bit weird. Think frozen is definitely a good option. The reason for me not doing it if it's an option would be impatience (and just wanted to transfer and potentially get pregnant asap, and cost). Thank you for your encouragement/positive words btw.

Think realistically it is only 45% success per transfer, but maybe because people are more likely to post when they are happy about a BFP, it made me think chances were more like 80%! Although I do also have a tendency to expect the worst. X
