Hi
So, we're currently 6wk1d with our 3rd pregnancy (no living children, 2 miscarriages) which is an IVF pregnancy. Clear positive tests but I had some pain from probable mild OHSS so had NHS scans last week and this week. Last week's scan was too early to do anything other than confirming that the location was ok and that my ovaries are not ok (covered in huge cysts and inflammation).
Today, the scan showed a heartbeat but the sonographer said that the gestational sac is the wrong shape so "it'll likely miscarry". The sac looks intact (not visibly breaking down) but kind of tear-drop shaped with the heartbeat towards the narrower end.
I suppose I'm just wondering if anyone else has had unusual shaped sacs and whether the outcome is inevitable?
