Endometriosis and IVF

Hello ☺️ this is my first ever post on something like this.

I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis (stage IV) via laparoscopy last month - huge shock as I had no symptoms. I have been told my left ovary is particularly ‘stuck down’ 🙈 and they probably wouldn’t be able to access it for egg retrieval, but the right should be accessible. My AMH levels are also normal to high. I have since been put on the contraceptive pill to keep everything calm until we can start IVF.
We naturally conceived our daughter (5 years old) so won’t be able to get any funding on the NHS and was just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar and what their treatment has been like? Any success stories of similar situations?
I am based in Edinburgh so would also love to hear from anyone going through IVF in Edinburgh or Glasgow?

Thank you x

My mum had her tubes blown through because of endo before having me. Not sure if that is an option anymore?

@erinio hey! Didn't want to read & run! I'm so sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with severe endo, I too have severe endo with everything stuck down and unfortunately it resulted in both tubes being blocked so ivf was my only way forward.
To shed a little hope, I now have a 14 month old who is the light of my life 🥰 he was my second round of ivf privately.
Our protocol looked something like this -
Cd21 start norethisterone to time cycle
2nd day of bleed start stims
Follicle scans
I think if I remember rightly I stimmed for 15 days before having egg collection - I too was told no chance on getting anything from my right ovary but they got 2 from there which I was really impressed with! Over all on both cycles they collected 11 & then 10. I didn't get any embryos to freeze on 1st cycle but 2nd cycle which my baby was from we have 2 frozen which I'm just in the process of doing a cycle with them!
The first cycle I was given progesterone pessaries and the second cycle they decided to give me estrogen patches as well as progesterone pessaries which they've decided to follow again for the frozen cycle.
Both transfers were 5 days after collection and then testing was 17 days later - torture!
Hope that all makes sense I didn't want to start naming meds as everyone's journey is different. Wishing you lots of luck! X
