@foodiefil good luck for the transfer tomorrow!!

Nerdalert · 10/09/2021 17:27

My left ovary is better than my right 🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️ im that person! @beachbum85

Nerdalert · 10/09/2021 17:28

Oh and my OTD is Tuesday

Gensola · 10/09/2021 18:28

@foodiefil good luck tomorrow!

@Nerdalert I also have a stronger left ovary Grin I feel quite special now 😂

Can’t believe I still have a week until OTD 😱

Lifa · 10/09/2021 19:49

Hello Ladies appologies I haven't commented on here for a couple of weeks, I have been keeping a low profile since having my egg transfer 31/08 and talked myself into that it wasn't going to work again even though this time we have chucked everything into this last attempt, I have read all your updates which has kept me going and sent you all virtual luck as you were going through Stims, EC's and ET's, congratulations to everyone that got that BFP we are all chasing and so sorry to everyone that didn't - your time will defo come :) this morning I attended my clinic for my Beta blood test, yesterday morning I decided to do a pregnancy test .....well i ended up doing 4 and all were BFP!! Our blood test is showing as strong so the next step is out scan in 3 weeks, we are over the moon, the reason I wanted to share is by no means to gloat it's for you ladies that didn't get that positive this time, this is our 3rd donor egg attempt, I fell pregnant naturally last year however lost the baby at 17 weeks.... be kind to yourselves and keep believing that it will happen, I was on the verge of giving up and it happened xxx

MollyVanDer · 10/09/2021 21:42

@Lifa your story is inspirational. I'm so pleased you found that little bit in yourself to go through it all one more time. Having just completed my first (and unsuccessful) IVF cycle your post keeps me believing. Thank you! I wish you all the very best for the next steps in your journey x

beachbum85 · 11/09/2021 00:27

Congratulations @Lifa :) I'm so, so happy that you got your BFP on this last attempt after that journey!! Thanks for coming back to share the lovely news and give us hope... I wish you the happiest and healthiest weeks and months ahead xx

Ha! 2 stronger right ovaries then Grin
Ohhh @Nerdalert Tuesday is not too far now! Hang in there :) and you too @Gensola! Anything nice (and distracting) planned for the weekend? xx

Gensola · 11/09/2021 07:04

@beachbum85 I actually have a couple of dinners at lovely friends’ houses tonight and tomorrow so that will keep me busy I hope!
I am tempted to test 9dp5dt as all the timelines I can see online say that’s the day you should see HCG on the test, my OTD is 11dp5dt. For me with two implantation failures too, knowing I’d had a chemical would actually be good as it would prove something can implant (currently my big worry is that I need immunes/intra lipids, and my clinic don’t prescribe them so if this transfer doesn’t work, I’ll have to go elsewhere with my frostie)

SerendipitySunshine · 11/09/2021 07:58

Congratulations @lifa - wonderful news.

Bluebonnet3 · 11/09/2021 08:51

Just catching up on the thread the last few days. So much is going on!

Good luck for ET today @foodiefil and @Ttc8 ! And @smarty14 are you transferring today, too? 🤞🏼

Hoping those who are stimming make good progress over the weekend for your scans next week, @2mumsandason and @Goldilocks2528 and @HopefulRomantic and especially for EC next week @ngy21 and @Lotusflower1990000
. Try to take it easy and not stress too much. 🌸

@Goldilocks2528 any word on the covid situation? How are you feeling? Really hoping you don't test positive and that scans and EC can happen!

Sorry for your news @MollyVanDer and @KatRee and @99pctpractice . 💐

Have any plans this weekend to keep yourselves occupied before testing Tues @Nerdalert and @Jennyhunter ? Hope you can hold out till then! And you, too, for testing end of next week @Gensola .

And congrats to recent BFPs @Hansoo and @Lifa ! So happy for you both! 😀

For anyone I've missed, I hope you are holding on and doing well and have a good weekend.

I'm going in for a repeat beta hcg blood test this morning, to hopefully confirm rising hcg levels. My ovaries have been kind of sore the past few days (particularly when i need to pee). I've read ohss can flare up at beginning of pg, so i think I'll try to stay extra hydrated and with electrolytes, just in case. (20+ eggs collected puts me at risk, I think, so just to be on the safe side.)

There is a park with a rose garden not too far from my clinic and blood test center, so i will treat myself to a walk through the 🌹flowers afterwards, with a ☕️ (decaf) and 🥐.

beachbum85 · 11/09/2021 09:22

That sounds really nice @Gensola! Maybe you should offer to make the dessert or something... That would keep me busy literally the entire day, I'm so terrible at baking Grin
I've wondered about testing earlier and regularly to try and identify any chemicals too, but I know I wouldn't be able to handle the stress and tbh I've only had 1 previous transfer and it was an early blast, so a different situation to you. If you think your nerves could handle it those last few days, it would be interesting to start earlier and knock a few days off! My OTD is 12dp5dt...

@Bluebonnet3 good luck with your bloods! Do you get the results immediately? I hope you manage to keep the OHSS away! That walk in the rose garden with breakfast sounds lovely - enjoy it lots XX

@foodiefil thinking of you today! Deep breaths xx
@Ttc8 and @smarty14 very, very busy of luck to both of you too xx

foodiefil · 11/09/2021 09:40

Amazing news @Lifa thank you for sharing with us. It’s hope for the rest of us.

Thank you @Bluebonnet3 @beachbum85

Did anyone do anything special for ET? I can’t remember doing anything last time but have been reading about fluffy socks and Mcdonald’s fries 😆

OP posts:
Gensola · 11/09/2021 09:50

Good luck today @foodiefil! People talk about pineapple as well I think!

foodiefil · 11/09/2021 10:08

Thank you @Gensola I will get some of that too! It can’t hurt!

OP posts:
beachbum85 · 11/09/2021 10:31

@foodiefil I ate the McDonald's fries this time and, yeah, pineapple core. I also read about some scientific study about beetroot, watermelon and ginger juice and I've had some of that these days but tbh I don't really believe that these things make any difference...

My friend sent my this, which I thought was lovely:
www.jenniferrobertson.co/blog/letter-transfer-day

foodiefil · 11/09/2021 10:50

Oh my god @beachbum85 that just made me cry! That is so lovely and validating.

Yeah I don’t think I do either but I do like Mcdonald’s fries so any excuse 😆 is pineapple core different to pineapple chunks?

OP posts:
beachbum85 · 11/09/2021 11:08

Awwwww @foodiefil I'm glad you liked it too :)

Yeah the pineapple core is the hard chewy piece in the middle of the fruit... I think if you were to buy chunks that piece would have been removed. Sorry, that doesn't make it sound very appealing haha
As you said, any excuse to eat the fries - I'd definitely start with that :)

foodiefil · 11/09/2021 14:36

Hmmm I think I’ll leave the pineapple core but getting my fries now! @beachbum85

Just out of transfer. So we had two “fair”blastocysts and they suggested we put them both back in to give us the best chance of a pregnancy. Because it wouldn’t have survived the freezing process.

Anyone have any stories of fair blasts?!

OP posts:
beachbum85 · 11/09/2021 14:49

@foodiefil I'm afraid I don't, but congrats on being PUPO twice over!! I hope the transfer itself was OK! Enjoy those fries xx

Hansoo · 11/09/2021 16:24

Just caught up on here..
Sorry to read of the negative stories. Just have the strength to try again.
Even though I was positive every day I wonder if it will continue. Pregnancy seems so flighty.
My work want me to work nights in about a month. I'm hoping I can somehow get something from the doctor preventing that as I'm scared stiff that it's too early in my pregnancy to do them and I know that if we lose the pregnancy I will factor in the blame about that.

MollyVanDer · 11/09/2021 18:18

@foodiefil congratulations on your embryo transfer today and enjoy those fries!

I read a story about a woman who was having no success with AA and AB grade embryos and got pregnant on a C grade because even though it was the worst grade (her third transfer) she was successful. The embryologist said that it's about chromosome abnormalities sometimes and the grading is only part of the story.

Here is hoping your "fair" embryos have great chromosomes and you are on a pathway to a positive outcome. Wish you all the best x

foodiefil · 11/09/2021 18:49

Thanks for sharing @MollyVanDer we hope so too. No frosties either so it would mean another full round for us - our third - if they didn’t stick. Fingers crossed ey

OP posts:
99pctpractice · 12/09/2021 05:17

Congratulations, @foodiefil!! My sister got pregnant with transfer of one “rubbish” embryo (as she described it), so it can definitely be done!!!

@Lifa thanks for sharing your story!! I was so down after my bfn (lots of snot crying!), but I have to keep reminding myself that just because it didn’t work first time doesn’t mean that it can’t work on a subsequent attempt….so happy to hear that you’re pregnant! Do you mind me asking why you’re using donor eggs? I’m worried that the main reason it didn’t work for us is the quality of my eggs (I’m 40 with low AMH) so wondering whether that’s something we should start considering.

Novavee · 12/09/2021 09:22

Hi everyone,

A little late to the party, but I hope you don't mind if I join. I'm on another thread but delays with my treatment left me as the last person stimming and it would be great to have some buddies on a similar timeline.

I am in a same sex relationship and this is my first ivf cycle. I am 12 days in and my follicules seem to be slow growers. I had a scan on Friday and they were all between 10 and 14mm, so the clinic changed me from gonal f to menopur and I have another scan on Monday. If Menopur works its magic, i should be triggering for an EC on Wednesday, but they think its more likely to the a Thursday or Friday collection.

From what I read @ngy21 and @lotusflower1990000 you're also booked for scans on Monday with EC to be confirmed, right? How long have you been stimming?

For the ladies that have been through EC already, anyone had a change of medication halfway throught it and did it make a difference to the way your follicules responded?

Off to continue reading back the rest thread.

ngy21 · 12/09/2021 10:31

@foodiefil @2mumsandason lazy lefty crew! Had a thought yesterday when i was in bed, i sleep on my right side - and just thought if that had anything to do with perhaps all my meds rushing to the right ovary and making it more responsive Grin just a thought, probs a silly one haha!

Good luck for your scan tomorrow @2mumsandason and congrats on your ET @foodiefil

Congratulations @Lifa!!! Such great news!!!

@Bluebonnet3 Hope you're bloods went well :)

@Novavee welcome! this is my first cycle also :) Today will be my day 12 of stimming, on my day 8 scan i was showing slow progress so they upped my stims from 150 to 187.5. Day 10 scan showed that there was definitely progress but still not ready for EC, so i have a scan tomorrow to check progress. If my stims worked amazing over weekend means i could potentially trigger on Monday but i don't think that will be the case as i've already told myself that EC will more than likely be Friday, so i reckon i will be stimming Mon and Tues as well making it a total of 14 day stims.

Did you get increased dosage for stims? as on my first scan they only found/measured 10-11 follicles but after i upped my dosage, 2 days later they measured 15. Though some still a bit small but numbers were going in the right direction. I think we are very similar timelines! Deffo EC next week.
