Gonal F or Menopur

Hi everyone was wandering is anyone could offer me any advise on differences in these 2 drugs. My consultant is happy to prescribe either drug but their is almost a 1400 difference in price. From your experience is Gonal F better than the Menopur to justify the price difference or should I just go for the cheapest option. This is our first attempt at ICSI. Thanks

Hmm, I think everyone will have a different opinion depending on whether or not it worked (or not!) for them. I think they are much of a muchness really in terms of success rate. I started with Menopur but Gonal F was added for extra stimulation mid-cycle. I don't think the problem was with Menopur but that I needed a higher dose. I know people who've gotten pregnant with Menopur and people who haven't; likewise with Gonal F. That doesn't help. But essentially, they both give you a good chance so go with the cheapest (imo),

Thank you for my reply. From what I've found on Google they seem really similar so I'll go with the cheaper one. Didn't want to lessen our chance if there was a real benefit to having the more expensive one

Hello! I know this is an old thread but I was just wondering how you got on try9ng? I'm wondering about Meriofert vs Ovaleap (which is essentially Menopur and Gonal-f) but I can't find any definite advice online. Xx

Hi, I was told they are pretty much the same except Gonal F is already prepared whereas you have to mix the Menopur yourself. I actually ended up getting a quote from the fertility pharmacy as the Gonal F was cheaper with them so went with that. Unfortunately I never got to start last booked cycle due to a cyst so can't advise outcome from meds, but due to start cycle on Saturday 🙏 x
