PCOS and High Prolactin!

Hi everyone!

I've been trying for over a year, we have had 2 chemical pregnancy's which is absolutely heartbreaking! In March I had 2 blood tests and an ultrasound, at the ultrasound I found out I have polycystic ovaries, which I kind of knew anyways as i have extremely irregular cycles and my LH levels jump around so much! My GP then called me to tell me that my blood tests came back and I had high levels of prolactin! Has anyone experienced anything with high levels of prolactin and infertility? Treatments or medications, ivf? Anything of the sorts?

I've got an appointment with an endocrinologist next month and I'm scared! I have no idea what to expect! Does anyone have any experience with this? What should I expect?

Any help is massively appreciated! Thank you!! Xoxo

@OnMyJourney I don't have POCS but I do have high prolactin. It is VERY easy to treat with a drug called cabergoline, in fact your levels can be back to normal within a matter of weeks. The endocrinologist will check your blood and may possibly refer you for an MRI to check for a lump on your pituitary gland (which if you do have is absolutely harmless, it just causes this annoying high prolactin issue). It might not be that though, something as simple as stress can cause levels to rise. In short, it is nothing to worry about and is one of the more simple things to fix! Good luck with you appointment Smile
