Please help me decide between two ivf consultants?

I posted recently about my first ivf consultation but I’ve now been given two options for consultants.

Consultant 1
is my nhs consultant so he knows my history
But he only works one day a week at the clinic so due to dates, it means starting treatment in July instead of June
Because treatment is delayed a month I would be able to go abroad for a holiday to help me relax.

Consultant 2
Her blurb says she specialises in recurrent miscarriage which I have had 3 very early miscarriages.
She works full time so I will likely start treatment in June.
I won’t be able to go abroad due to the treatment and also allowing for quarantine periods but could go somewhere in the U.K.

Is one of these options more obvious and beneficial than the other? I just can’t decide which is best.

TIA this is my first time doing ivf so I don’t know enough experience to know what’s best to do.

@XjustagirlX it's always tough. Personally I would ask about how often consultant 1 is going to be available because if he only works there 1 day per week it's quite likely you won't see him that much anyway. IVF doesn't work on a timetable so your scans, egg collection and transfer may vary according to how your respond - there's a good chance he won't be available on those days. It could be better to choose consultant 2 and see her more regularly. Also you could probably still choose to wait a month and have your holiday if you wanted to.

Best of luck xx

@XjustagirlX

Consultant 2 sounds like the best option. She clearly has a shorter waiting list and is available more often. She also specialises in an area that is important in your case.

The availability may not sound that important right now, but if you have an unsuccessful cycle or something goes wrong in your treatment, the last thing you want is to be waiting weeks on end until your consultant is available as they are fully booked because they only work one day a week.

Is the main thing pushing you towards consultant 1 the holiday? I'm sure you can book your consultation/treatment a few weeks later with consultant 2 and go on holiday before it all starts.

Hello! I am going to agree with the rest, I would lean on Consultant 2.
Hopefully everything will be perfect on the first try, but still you will have questions, worries, things that you will need your doctor available for.
