Hi!
My husbands semen, last we knew, were poor everything, that was about three years ago. He has been on Wellman Conception 6 months now and lost a few lbs. too scared to get him re tested but i think we should.

Anyway i called a private clinic to try get some scans for me etc and because of my bmi they said no. So i have to lose about 4 st. 🤦🏻‍♀️ so thats a no go while i lose weight.

What else can we even do! Its been 5 years trying for second child. I have mild pcos one side but everything else is fine! I'm at a loss. Can they even do anything for my husbands semen if its still not good? Anything else he could take ? 🥺 thank you

Hi @charlsains , for the semen, my DH recently got his results back and they weren't great so my consultant recommended he started taking proxeed plus sachets twice a day immediately. You can buy them on Amazon and they are quite pricey (66 for a months supply) but they have incredible reviews where people had awful results and they were all normal by the time of next test.

If I were him I would start ASAP as they can take three months to make a difference. He could then get the analysis done after the three months and hope there has been a big improvement - that is basically what my husband is doing!

Hi @charlsains, I have a very similar story to yours. I have been trying to conceive my second child since October 2018. We have paid to go with Thames Valley Fertility clinic and they have agreed to see me but like you, I would not receive treatment until I reduced my BMI to 35 (private) or 30 (NHS). Just received our results and this highlighted a problem on my husbands side that we were not aware of. Long story short a test taken 2 years ago highlighted something but GP told us results were normal! So i'm hoping that they can at least treat him to increase our chances. looking at mine everything was fine but my AMH levels were 4.7 pmol/L, google tells me this is bad but i have no idea if this is in relation to my BMI. We have a consultation next week so see what they say.
