No fetal pole, 7 weeks, ivf. Any hope?

Hello there. Here is my situation, wondering if anyone can share their experiences:

Ivf (therefore no mistake of conception dates)
Viability scan at 6 weeks 6 days: no fetal pole therefore no heartbeat heard either. Gestational sac and yolk sac observed, but they measured small.

Retroverted uterus, if that matters.

Next scan: 2 weeks time (8 weeks 6 days)

Is there any hope for me? Has anyone gone on to see an embryo/ fetal pole after not seeing one at 7 weeks?

Could the baby be laying in a position that is hiding him/her, so makes it difficult to see on the scan? They're still very little at this point.

I have heard of some fetal pole not showing at 6 weeks due to a retroverted uterus, so it may apply at 7 weeks too. Really hope it works out for you.

@EasterBunny7 I miscarried twins last year (also have a retroverted uterus) - one twin had a fetal pole but slow heart rate. The second sac they barely could see the fetal pole (no heartbeat) they think it measured 6 weeks but they weren’t sure on that. I returned 8 days later and there were no heartbeats, a week after that (should have been then 8 weeks the EPU confirmed). I hope you have a different outcome to me. How comes the clinic are waiting 2 weeks to scan? Xx

@Sunny56 and @IslandStars

Thank you for the positive thoughts

Really sorry to hear of your losses. It's heartbreaking to learn you've been blessed and then it is gone in another week or two.

My scan is 2 weeks away because it was pre booked. I had bleeding and cramping at 5 weeks 3 days but saw the gestational sac and yolk sac at 5 weeks 6 days, albeit small.

Just wanted to update any future readers that unfortunately, it ended in miscarriage. This was the hardest miscarriage with it spanning weeks and having some underlying hope that some kind of miracle would happen.

Sorry to hear that @EasterBunny7, very cruel for it to go on so long. Thanks for updating, I wish you better luck in future with whatever you decide to do.
