Urgent advice needed - please

I’ve been given two options for my first ivf consultation. One is with a nurse practitioner and one is with a consultant.

I’m anxious about picking the nurse practitioner as I’m not really sure what that means. Also I was told that I would see this person throughout my whole treatment. Would the nurse practitioner do the egg retrieval or is that a separate team?

@XjustagirlX see the consultant, the nurses are fantastic at technical aspects like scans and transfers and provide a lot of support with monitoring. But I think the treatment should be lead by a consultant who oversees everything.

@Gardenlady543 I’ve gone with the consultant. Thank you for replying. I was thinking that deep down but needed someone to confirm my thinking so thank you.

@XjustagirlX I think that's the right decision. I have a lot of respect for the specialised nurses but cases can get very complicated.

We all hope things will work first time but it doesn't always happen. In my case I've needed a huge array of tests after two unsuccessful cycles, my case became very complicated and having the same consultant following my case has been very helpful.
