Anyone had polyps after taking estrogen?

Hello, i've recently discovered 2 uterine polyps during one of my scans. Have never had these before, despite doing 3 ECs and 1 FET, so have had lots of scans.

I've read that polyps feed on estrogen, so i'm wondering if the Progynova i took for my last FET and was half way through recently for my next FET has caused them? (My second transfer was cancelled due to the polyps).

Anyone else found this, or have i just been extremely unlucky? I know polpys are more common over 40, which i am, but once i've had them removed, i'm worried about taking estrogen again incase it causes them to come back. It's costing me a lot of time and money to get them removed.

Bumping incase anyone comes across this with same problem or info, seems like I may have just been unlucky to develop the polyps after failed FET, if it’s not a common problem.

Not exactly the same experience but I thought it can help a little. I was having a lot of bleeding disorders for the past 1 year and ttc for a few months until I was finally diagnosed with which they thought was polyps but during surgery the doctor found out it was actually a submucosal fibroid. Apparently they're very similar. I'm only 34 and white and everywhere I read it says it affects more black and older women. I've never taken any medication so I can't blame anything I've taken. Doctor said that I was just very unlucky 🙄. Doctor reassured me that once I had surgery my chances of getting pregnant would increase so if I get pregnant soon the fibroid won't have time to grow back.
Maybe talk to your doctor about this so they can provide some reassurance??

@Angie887 Thanks so much for the advice, will look into this and I guess hysteroscopy will confirm. At least I know yours were not caused by estrogen.

Hi, I know you posted this back in 2021 but just wanted to see if you got an answer to this post at all? I am experiencing exactly the same issue now. We've now had 2 failed egg thaw cycles due to taking Progynova. I had the Polyp removed but it came back again. I've never had issues with polyps before and also wondering if Progynova is the cause? I've got to have a hycosy scan on Tuesday to see what is going on. Many thanks!

Hi @weezy1208 ,

I'm wondering if you found out whether the progynova caused the polyp to develop again. I'm in the same position – I had a polyp removed last month and am in the process of starting Progynova for a frozen transfer. I'm very concerned that the polyp will grow back.
