Hi all

We are thinking of going to see Mr Ramsay based on two poor semen analysis, most recent has normal count but 29% progressive motility and 2% normal forms.

Please can you tell me your experience with Mr Ramsay and particularly if anyone has a partner with low morphology/motility please can you tell me the types of treatments he prescribes?

Thank you

Hi, I’m the OP, I’ve got to say I found our experience with Ramsay fine but that’s all and I find it a bit strange how all the reviews of him rave about how wonderful he is…you don’t really see that with any other consultant. It just seems strange to me. 🤔🤔🤔

Hi @lemons44

4 vials is great! My partner’s OA was also caused by surgery when he was 24, but his was because of a really bad (drunken) accident. The scar tissue has most likely caused the obstruction and it’s irreversible.

We got 3 vials and used one. Had a FET in Feb but it resulted in miscarriage at 8 weeks. We also had a previous NHS funded round last year but they used TESA instead of TESE (no idea why - I hadn’t educated myself enough to ask all the right questions at the time) which resulted in 0 sperm to freeze and 2 below average 5 day blasts which failed.

I’m sorry you only got 3 mature eggs out of 13. Amazing that they all fertilised though! It sounds like a protocol issue more than an egg issue? My advice would be to speak to a few different consultants and get their opinion on the protocol they’d recommend for you next time. I had a free 45 min consultation with a Dr at The Lister recently (who had read all my previous notes!) and although we’ve ruled them out it was still really useful to speak to them - they sent us nice a follow letter with the details of the protocol they would use too.

Thanks for the article, really interesting. Prof Minhas did mention that TESE most likely means lower dna frag. We might have to accept that we can’t improve our testicular sperm but I’m turning 39 soon so really want to make sure we’re doing everything right for the next round!

Hi hope you’re doing well. Can I ask how long the healing time was after surgery. Thanks.
