Hi everyone. We're just waiting on our NHS referral and have been told we can choose where to have our treatment (male factor issue for us, I seem 'normal').

Any experiences of any of these hospitals? Not sure where to start with decision making. All much of a muchness in terms of travel. We're in west London near Ealing, with the train line into Paddington

@hoping4baby21 I'm sorry I can't help more. I think I'd make a decision on timing and desperation and importantly whether they'll refer you if you don't. I'm only four and a half months off the age cut off so am pushing them to push my referall, and if that was going to slow it down I'd be begging them to skip it and just go with the hycosy

@Tuckedinbelly I tried to set up a call but next NHS call is 17th July!!! After the proposed date for the surgery! They are going to try and fit me in. Seems ridiculous for a quick call. Based on what he says but I'd prefer HyCoSy a surgery seems intense for no other reason than just to be extra sure nothing else is going on. The catch 22 though is if there IS something I'd be glad I did it.

I hear you! The wait times are awful. DP needs to do another sperm test for our referral and the first available date is 5th July! To drop off some spunk in a cup!

@Tuckedinbelly, hi, wondering which hospital you went finally? I'm also having the same question as you, same area as u. Also have u got the 1st initial appointment and treatment yet as of to date (6 months already)? thanks!!

Hi @kobella
We went for UCLH given the above comments re age etc. I'm nearly 40.
We had our first appointment with the consultant there at the end of October where they recommended the treatment (ICSI). next appointment end of this month with the nursing team whereby I believe they run through how everything works, the drugs etc etc and then hope to start in January (or maybe February depending on how my cycle falls with Xmas and new year etc). After such a long wait it seems so soon now! I've started on all my supplements and am gearing up to it.
