Low amh / 3 lead follicles - need some hope!

I'm doing my first round of IVF, this is my one and only nhs round. I have low amh (5) so was warned they weren't expecting much from me. I have had 4 naturally concieved miscarriages and am following an immune protocol but worried about my low numbers.

I've been on stims since Thursday and had my first scan today. I have 3 decent sized follicles: 2x12mm, 1x10mm plus 5 smaller ones all about 5mm. The nurse seemed happy but thinks that the smaller ones won't come to anything. Follow up is Wednesday and looking at egg collection sometime between Friday and Monday.

I'm on another thread and everyone has loads of follicles / eggs, so struggling not to compare. Due to my low numbers, we've already discussed a day 3 transfer, but I'm worried we won't even get that far.

@39andabit good luck if you do decide to test tomorrow 🤞 (we're literally a week apart with our dates, my test date is next Wednesday).

@Scirocco I was really nervous before egg collection, cried in the car park. Its overwhelming, especially when the outcome feels uncertain. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Try and break it down into stages, so get up, have a shower, get dressed etc. I've got everything crossed for you ❤️

@VenusStarr - thanks for checking in!! (For some reason my phone decided not to alert me!) I've been following your updates this eve and am so chuffed for you, that's amazing news about your embabies on ice !! And it really does give us newbies hope!! I'm currently in limbo really, meds arrive on Wednesday but this cycle we've given it one last chance to conceive naturally and I'm only 7dpo today so likely won't know for sure till towards the end of the week, after so long of not being unsuccessful I'm really not hopeful put DP said he thinks I'll get pregnant this cycle just to be awkward !! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ x

I caved and did an early test this morning. It was a First Response Early one. Faint positive! I’m so nervous but very happy. I wish the line was darker as my partner was doubting it but it was 6am and I had woken him up so he could barely see!!

@Luan82 thank you. I'm really shocked we had such a good outcome on our small numbers. 🤞 For this cycle, but exciting your meds are arriving too, things are moving forward :)

@VenusStarr - thanks! I’d say wait until OTD if you can as I’m now driving myself nuts googling 9DP5DT pregnancy tests to try and compare and some are much darker. I think I’ll hold off until Weds now. I thought I’d feel more excited but it’s so anxiety ridden. I just need to be grateful we’ve got this far and hope for the best while preparing for the worst I guess. Let’s hope this is a lucky thread 🤞🤞🤞

@39andabit sending you a big hug ❤️ try not to compare, just keep looking at your test, you have a line and today you're pregnant. Have you got things on today to distract you?
It's so hard to know what's normal to feel, but I'd say how you're feeling is totally normal 🤞 for Wednesday and that this is a lucky thread for us all 💕

@39andabit the temptation to test a bit early can be all consuming !!! I know that so well.... amazing that you've got a faint positive though like @VenusStarr says everyone is different, some people get early positives and some get negatives till 12dpo! but with first response in my opinion a line is a line - I'm thinking of you and wishing you all the best 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🌈🌈🌈x

@39andabit you are brave to test early. It seems most likely you are pregnant, but yes there is a lot o variation amongst people although I know its difficult not to compare! Fingers crossed for you X

We'll be at hospital site around 11.30. I had a lot of dreams and woke up a few times at night, was thirsty and hungry. I think this is definitely more stressful than the EC!

I agree, the morning of transfer is hard! You've got this @jolly86 I'd been awake from 5am. Once you get there though, I hope you'll feel more settled.
They didn't tell me about the embryo they were transferring until I got in the room, but once you're there and in your gown, it will happen 🙏 lots of love xx ❤️

EC went ok - 6 eggs collected! Not sure of maturity - won't know that til tomorrow.

I had my final scan today - now have 4 decent size follies, hoping 2-3 more will catch up by EC on Wednesday!

@Luan82 ah thanks! I am more anxious than excited but hopefully the test Weds will be darker and I can get a blood test at the clinic booked in. I’d caution against the urge to test early but I had a quiet weekend and was obsessing! This is it...

Just been for a walk and had to stop half way round because I got out of breath! Just popped a pessary and having a sit down with warm socks on :) glamorous!

I’m reasonably busy but working from home so easy to get distracted between meetings!!

@VenusStarr I had some breathlessness/higher heart rate too. The other thing that made me want to test was a more sensitive sense of smell.

How are you all getting on with the progesterone? I have lutigest pessaries 3x a day. They’re messy and I think I’ve piled on weight since. Insatiable hunger and not doing my usual running and gym!! It’s so glam isn’t it?!

That's interesting about the breathlessness. I'm on utrogestan pessaries, they're actually OK. I've had my blood tested today to check my levels, think they'll put me on lubion injections if it's low, but I do feel like it is probably ok. My boobs are heavy.

Hopefully it'll all be worth it 🙏 ❤️

My progesterone levels are back 56.4, nurse said they're above what they like, do I'm to keep doing what I'm doing 🤞

They've also booked me a beta blood test 😬 two days before official test day. I'm scared. I want to be in my bubble for longer xx

Thank you @strawberrysummer19 it made me feel a bit anxious booking the blood test. But I'm focusing on the positives that my body is doing all it can to hold onto this little embaby 🥰 feeling a bit periody this afternoon but trying not to think about it. X

I completely get the wanting to be in the hope zone but I think at least a blood test will be really accurate so you’ll be confident in the result (and not spend all day googling images of pregnancy tests). I so hope you get good news. I think the periody feeling is the progesterone. Stay positive, like @strawberrysummer19 says, it won’t change the outcome but may make the waiting a bit less stressed. You’re doing everything you can and deserve a good outcome.

Hello everyone! Sorry for not writing yesterday. I wasn't feeling too well. My transfer wasn't very smooth, first got the call to say there is a very nice embryo they'll transfer and another one that isn't good enough to freeze, and also another one that is early stage hence will keep an eye on it. When in the center, I saw on the embryologist's note that it is 4BB which upset me and I was like you said it was a very good one?! I don't think I was meant to see it.. The one they will discard is a 4CC but she said they'll still watch it and the other early stage one until tomorrow (today) . Anyways then in my transfer they took a very long time: the doctor couldn't find the right catheter, tried several times, then another doctor came, a lot of pushing etc finally he found the right one but I was quite uncomfortable by then and in pain (I have high pain threshold so I imagine someone else would not have been as calm!) They then wanted to show me the pic of embryo in womb but I wasn't enthusiastic anymore!! It was a weird experience. Then came home feeling underwhelmed and disappointed. My husband tried to consolidate me. I still haven't got a call from embryology although they had said they would... I am not super happy with the clinic in the end and now already planning my next cycle- it wont be in the UK anyways. I had already done many of my tests abroad and that's where I'll be doing another cycle if I need.

Hi @jolly86 good to hear from you, I was thinking of you yesterday ❤️ I'm sorry your transfer was not as you imagined and you were left feeling deflated. I'm sorry it was painful for you too.

I know you're disappointed but your 4BB is a good embryo ❤️ and there is every chance. It's strange how the embryologist didn't talk through the grading with you?

Try to focus on each day, or even each hour as it comes, but don't write this cycle off yet. You're pregnant until proven otherwise, it's great that you made it to transfer. Is your test day next Friday?

I had lots of period cramps last night but I think it likely is progesterone. Hope you're all OK, its good to have you here as support xx
