Low amh / 3 lead follicles - need some hope!

I'm doing my first round of IVF, this is my one and only nhs round. I have low amh (5) so was warned they weren't expecting much from me. I have had 4 naturally concieved miscarriages and am following an immune protocol but worried about my low numbers.

I've been on stims since Thursday and had my first scan today. I have 3 decent sized follicles: 2x12mm, 1x10mm plus 5 smaller ones all about 5mm. The nurse seemed happy but thinks that the smaller ones won't come to anything. Follow up is Wednesday and looking at egg collection sometime between Friday and Monday.

I'm on another thread and everyone has loads of follicles / eggs, so struggling not to compare. Due to my low numbers, we've already discussed a day 3 transfer, but I'm worried we won't even get that far.

@Luan82 everyone seems to have such different drugs/protocols so guess it’s hard to compare. @strawberrysummer19 hi! Sounds like we had a really similar experience. I did long protocol 375 menopur (I’m quite small so that was a very high dose the consultant said) and did 13 days. Similar to you it was looking bleak and they’d only get 2-4 eggs but ended up with 7. Glad you’re feeling ok. When is your test day? It’s a weird feeling that you might actually be pregnant isn’t it? I’ve never got anywhere near before. Lots of luck for a positive 🤞

@39andabit yes very similar albeit mine at day 5 weren't even at blastocyst stage so I can't help but feel it's not for a chance, even though I should feel like there is

OTD is 11th - not sure if I want to test early or not. Think I'd rather wait as I just don't believe it can happen.

Also I feel absolutely no symptoms! Nothing!
Even with the progesterone in taking
600mg a day which I thought was a lot ! No sore boobs like I normally get in 2ww
Nothing!

@strawberrysummer19 I think the symptom spotting is difficult because of the progesterone, hard to know what is just a side effect, I’m so bloated, much worse than after EC so I’m hoping that may reduce once I stop the progesterone. Lots of women have no symptoms in early pregnancy but I can imagine that would make you feel less optimistic. I stressed myself out by testing early but it’s hard in the last few days as you just want an answer either way. Wait if you can I’d say but the temptation is high! I found it so hard to concentrate at work too. Now I’m the same waiting for a scan on the 15th!

After a bit of a rollercoaster... Official test is positive!!! Thrilled, terrified and a bit overwhelmed. Now to go pretend I'm perfectly calm at work... 😹

Brilliant news @Scirocco! Thrilled for you. The mantra of 'today I'm pregnant' helped me get through the next few weeks. I felt much calmer after our 7 week scan. Don't put too much pressure on yourself at work - I was useless for a week or so after finding out 😂

@strawberrysummer19 hang in there, you never know. I'm 31 weeks with our slow grower who wasn't a blast at 5 days. It can happen. I didn't have any symptoms at all and started having brown discharge day before OTD so was sure I was out. Fingers crossed for you 🤞

I’m ok. Still very anxious but my scan is Tuesday so 6 more days to go and hopefully I’ll be a bit more confident. Symptoms seem to come and go but still eating like a horse. I also seem to be losing a lot of hair, Dr Google says this is probably stress related in early pregnancy... not much you can do about that with IVF!

@39andabit not too bad, still not a symptom in sight! But I am waiting until OTD which is Saturday x

@strawberrysummer19 well done for waiting, it’s for the best and assuming you are not working Saturday it’s better to do it when you’re not going to work that day I think. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞

@39andabit thanks for checking in! All good now the bleeding had stopped which is good and just getting a few hot flushes which at least means the meds are doing something! I'm on the one evening and one morning injection now with the vaginal cream overnight - just cruising along till Friday when I can finally find out what's going on with my ovaries 🙏🏼🤞🏼😬x

@39andabit I still have quite watery CM so not sure what that is all about.

Yes I'm off Saturday but I must admit I'm tempted to test Friday after work as I figured it's one less sleep of then knowing! But still not sure

I'm going to order a FRER on Amazon prime tomorrow so it will most likely come Friday

I think you can test anytime with FRER can't you?

I go to the loo so many times in the night so not sure my FMU will be the best time?

@Luan82 glad you’re cruising through! I had hot flushes with the down regulation. But it was a lot less warm then! Hoping for good news on Friday 🤞

@strawberrysummer19 I had watery discharge. It would be sudden and once a day, I’d rush to the loo thinking it was the start of a period but no! Messy with the pessaries too 🤢 it isn’t every day and may be reducing now. My first ‘this could be pregnancy’ symptom was definitely the increased sense of smell, everything else was probably just progesterone e.g tender boobs, bloating.

I think you can test anytime and FRER should be accurate as it would only be a day early, just try not to drink too much and hold off having a wee for as long as possible!

Hi everyone!! @39andabit9 thanks for checking in. I go between feeling grateful to have gotten here and feeling very scared and anxious given my previous miscarriage. Symptoms are the breasts, drinking and going to the loo a lot also sleeping more than before. Not long before your scan then. X

@strawberrysummer19 FRER would work anytime I think I did use some other cheap tests which weren't showing much so don't use them! Good luck with the wait and testing X

@39andabit I did wonder if this could be a pregnancy symptom?! But I've tried to put it to the back of my mind. I also had a head cold last week which someone said could be sign then I had a nose bleed in the shower! Which was random - I thought I had come on! But again I think I'm in denial as I really don't think I am.

I always get sore boobs in 2ww and I only had these 5 days into progesterone along with a bloat which have now all gone.

I can barley hold my bladder! But that's normal for me - not a symptom unfortunately
My bladder is abnormally weak! So I'll see how I feel about testing fri or sat as not sure x

@39andabit same! 've literally just had a sudden gush and thought here's my period ! and it was that watery discharge again. And most my pessary! X

@jolly86 I usually use those cheapys but didn't want to if I get to test date. So def frer all the way x

@strawberrysummer19 it sounds promising but I can relate to the fear, best not to overthink - says the queen of overthinking 😂 it all just drives you mad doesn’t it? Glad I’m not the only one with the weird discharge/pessary mess! IVF is so glam, guess it prepares you for the undignified pregnancy experience though!

Treat yourself to a pricey test, it’s worth it. I’d order a pack of 2 as if it’s a positive you’ll definitely be wanting to POAS soon after, I’m on test 5 😬

@jolly86 yes exactly the same here! We had a conversation about names last night and it was so lovely and then by bedtime I was back to googling missed miscarriage at scan etc... I’m going to make a real effort to stop going down that hole this week. I can’t even say I’m pregnant as I feel like a fraud. We’ve told our parents and a few close friends which I couldn’t avoid as they knew we were doing the IVF cycle, the thought of telling them bad news seems so sad.
