Feeling resentful at isolating when everyone's about to start socialising

Due to start my third cycle on 17th with a fresh transfer (if running to time) on June 5th.

My clinic does temp checks and won't treat you if you have a temperature so i need to start isolating from this weekend despite being fully vaxed to make sure i don't come down with anything else that may give me a temperature.

The previous two cycles didn't bother me as much as would have been stuck home anyway but feeling a bit depressed at being locked down again just as everything is opening up.

Anyone else feeling frustrated by this? i am looking forward to this less than ever

Congratulations on your pregnancy @pileapetals. I'm always happy to hear IVF success stories and was even before I had my own success. But whilst you're as entitled to have pregnancy-related complaints as anyone else, I don't think this is the place for them. I mean this kindly because I don't think you realise how your post may come across. There was a time I would have swapped every summer and my entire social schedule for a BFP and your post would have upset me. Some women reading this are still there.

@Bells3032 the last thing you need is more isolation, especially as the weather gets nice. I can see why you're not looking forward to it. I'm planning to have a FET in a couple of months but it hasn't occurred to me to isolate. I'm interested to see if anyone else is isolating?? Perhaps it would occur to me closer to the time when I'm more focussed on anything that might prevent it going ahead!

That's a fair point, @Yokey. I'm trying to delete the post but there doesn't seem to be an option? I know it's possible as I've seen posts withdrawn by posters in other threads...

I think they report their own comment to mumsnet asking for it to be deleted?? I've never done it but I think that's how it's done.

@Yokey I isolated for both my FET's last October and this April for exactly the same reason as @Bells3032 - my clinic would treat you as if you had covid and cancel your cycle if you got so much as a bit of a cough or a temperature. I've had both my vaccines too, but that's not going to stop me spiking a temperature or getting a cough if/when I pick up a cold virus. I ended up working from home (even though my job isn't the kind of thing you do from home), just to ease the anxiety of worrying that I was going to get a piffling cold and have my cycle cancelled! 😰

@Bells3032 you've definitely got the crapper end of the stick than me due to everything opening up 😔 Honestly though, the relief from knowing I was doing everything in my power to prevent my cycle being cancelled was worth it. Wishing you the best of luck for June 🍀

@Bells3032 totally. Yep more stupid IVF related rules. We have just done a cycle and associated self isolations. Oh and yeah it failed Hmm. So as usual lots of time and money wasted for nothing. At some point when it’s convenient l will bust out the last embryo from the freezer and then lm done.

ah dam so my clinic have now said we need to take home LFT tests on day 1 and day 10 so really no ability to take risks at all. how depressing

LFT don’t especially work. I know a number of people who were positive but LFT said they were negative

@BambiOnIce80 To be honest, I had thought about how paranoid I'd be about contracting covid, but now rates are lower and I've been vaccinated, I assumed it wouldn't be an issue by the time of my FET. I hadn't considered how everything's about covid now so there can be no room for doubt. I guess it's just another shitty hoop for infertile people to jump through, as if there aren't enough of those.

I hope another crap summer turns out to be worth it for you, @Bells3032.

@EL8888 sorry about your failed cycle. Everything crossed for your last embryo when you're ready to try again.
