Hi,

I'm due to have our FET 1 transfer on 17th May and have been looking for some tips.

What did everyone do during TWW? Did you do best rest? No going out? Eating Pineapple Core?

Would really appreciate the tips.

Thank you Thanks

Hi @IVFdreams2021 good luck for your FET! I had mine last Friday. Your clinic will give you standards 'don'ts' - for me that was no swimming, hot baths or sex for the 3 days after transfer. Clinics vary though.

I'd say no to bed rest - a few outdated websites aside, everyone seems to agree it's unnecessary and it's better for you to get some gentle exercise. Pineapple is apparently a total myth as well.

I like to have evidence that something works, but people are different and if you want to try things like pineapple to feel you've thrown all you can at it, it won't do you any harm. Aside the usual pregnancy stuff (no alcohol or smoking, take folic acid) most of how you spend the TWW seems to be personal choice. Reassuringly I saw studies that stress doesn't actually affect outcomes, though it's obviously nicer for you if you don't feel stressed the whole time.

One tip I'd say is to try to have some plans for the TWW... It's the longest wait ever and anything that distracts your brain for even 5 minutes is a win.

No bed rest! You need to keep active and keep as normal as possible. Not only for your body and to keep good blood flow for implantation but also for your own mental sake!
I took some days off work after but wish I hadn't as I just spent the entire time thinking about it!
The day of egg transfer I went to rugby training like normal, ran around for an hour and a half (doctor highly encouraged me to go). I got my BFP at 6dp5dt and am currently 5 weeks today
I didn't eat pineapple but did keep my feet nice and cozy with warm socks lol

Oh I did it all! But I think @lucymills1234's post is very sensible. I decided after about a week post transfer that if it is a good embryo and my lining was good then there'd be almost nothing that could stop it working.

That said, I enjoyed some of the things I did:
Listening to meditation videos on YouTube and imagined implantation
Eating pineapple core, brazil nuts, lots of lovely warm healthy food like stir fried veg and soup
Gentle strolls but nothing too strenuous
Watching shows that I'd specifically earmarked because I knew I'd find them funny
Cozy socks of course

I didn't eat mcd fries or anything I didn't feel was helpful and I think that's they key: do what you want to do and don't do anything you don't want.

Good luck!
