Questions to ask at IVF follow up

Hi,

Hope everyone is doing ok. We have recently had our first IVF cycle which was unsuccessful and have a follow up appointment next week. I was wondering if anybody has any recommendations on questions we should be asking/things we should be looking into before our next cycle?

Thanks,
Zoe

@ZoZoeee123 I’m sorry to hear about your recent cycle, I’ve had an unsuccessful fresh and frozen transfer so far and it’s so upsetting.

@agesandages11 wrote a really helpful thread on this yesterday with lots of advice on questions www.mumsnet.com/Talk/infertility/4229281-Questions-for-pre-IVF-and-post-IVF-consultations

@ZoZoeee123 what happened in this cycle for you? Was it a fresh cycle, if so how did things go with the stims and how many embryos did you get etc?

ZoZoeee123 · 01/05/2021 22:41

@Gardenlady543
Yes it was a fresh cycle. I was on short protocol. Quite low stims I think 75IU. I had 16 follicles but only 8 eggs and then only 5 were mature. 1 blastocyst day 5 which was transferred and another 3 day 6 but none were good enough quality to freeze. I was a bit disappointed as I suffered OHSS so don't think they will use more stims so I'm not sure how they will get more eggs! It is useful to know the sorts of things to ask at appointments. Hope your journey is going ok xx

@ZoZoeee123 I think you need to ask about how to get a better yield of good quality embryos.

@ivfbeenbusy has spoken about her experience with natural modified IVF on these forums, so may be able to tell you about whether that could help.
