Ways to improve AMH

Hi there.
I was told my AMH was only 2.3 in December. We started IVF in March and was on the max drugs short protocol. I produced 1 follicle when required in 2 fertilised eggs which sadly miscarried somewhere between 5-6 weeks. Emotionally it’s taken it’s toll and I am not doing another round till after the summer as want to loose some weight and emotionally deal with everything. I am concerned my AMH is so low and wondered if anyone has had any luck or suggestions on improving egg quality?
Thanks

AMH isn't an indicator of egg quality - it's only really used to indicate likely response to IVF stimulation and diagnose things like PCOS etc. Whilst I've seen AMH levels can fluctuate slightly they tend to only go one way - down. There isn't really anything you can do to increase it either as it's connected to the number of eggs in your ovaries and menopause etc

All I would say is that I changed to natural modified IVF after I had rubbish quality eggs with short protocol IVF. Instead of focussing on 14 eggs we targeted sometimes only 2 - this massively increased my egg quality and I had twins

I was wondering about this. I have one more cycle left with my current clinic, but I am was considering changing to look at natural modified. With only getting i follicle last time worried my chances maybe over ... pleased it worked for you. How different is natural? I need to start researching. Xx

@Furmummy another vote for natural modified - I actually responded better to natural modified than regular IVF (with an AMH of 1.0!)

@Furmummy
In its purest form it's quite a bit different - tamoxifen tablets from cycle day 3 and then very low dose stims every other day

I did 2 cycles of short protocol IVF - total 28 eggs less than 30% fertilised 4 average blastocysts - PGS tested 2 and neither normal.

In 2 cycles of natural modified IVF I got 9 eggs - 100% fertilised and 4 top quality blastocysts. Didn't bother with PGS but transferred 2 (not even the best 2!) and had twins and I still have 2 more frozen

@Furmummy My AMH increased over a period of three years. I was 2.3 in 2018, and it was measured at 5.2 in September last year (different clinics, but same measurement). New doctor has said it can fluctuate, but he was surprised that mine had effectively doubled.

Here are somethings I did, I can't say what the increase was attributed to but it could help.

  • started taking vitamin d
  • started taking coQ10
  • started eating mainly organic vegetables
  • switched to be dairy-free (this is due to my eczema not fertility, but could be related?)
  • switched from folic acid to methyl folate (I have MTHFR so my body doesn't effectively methylated B vitamins like folic acid)
  • switched jobs, new role is less stressful

I switched to the first three as I heard these can improve egg quality.

I'm still waiting patiently for my BFP!
