Fresh then frozen???

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has had success with a fresh transfer and then a frozen transfer from the same "batch" of embryos?! My little boy was a successful fresh but the two frozen we later transferred didn't work. My little girl was a fresh success and am now going for a frozen transfer in June. Can you be so lucky out of one "batch" to get more than one successful embryo?! Everything crossed... But would love to hear xx

Not me personally as none of my FET were successful but I have a friend who only had IVF once and both her children are from the same cycle.
Good luck!

@firefly37 the chance of success with each transfer is around 1 in 3 to 1 in 4. The rates of euploid embryos (23 pairs of chromosomes) varies by age, I’m 35 and they’d expect 50% of embryos to be euploid. Even if they are tested and you know they are euploid and they are implanted into the perfect environment, 30% still won’t result in a pregnancy.

Unfortunately sometimes it can take a few transfers to get success. So I wouldn’t worry too much and hope for the best with the next transfer 🤞

My first FET worked and I have 9 embryos left. I'm well aware that statistically I'd have to be extremely lucky to have success on my very next transfer. (Though of course I've already been very lucky anyway!) At the same time, I think I'd have to be extremely unlucky not to have more than one child from this 'batch'. I can't imagine doing further rounds if 9 transfers don't work out.

I think success rates are similar between fresh and frozen aren't they?

Perhaps you're due a successful FET 🤞

Hi OP, I had twins from my fresh cycle in 2018. We also had 2 frozen embryos from that cycle and I'm currently 29 weeks with one of them 😊

Thanks for replying guys... Has given me hope 😊... With my first IVF I had 8 mature eggs, 5 fertilised with only 3 making it to day five. I got my amazing son but he was the only one capable of becoming a bubba seemingly (I was 36 yrs old). I was 38 almost 39 with my next fresh cycle... Only got 3 mature eggs. I was certain it was doomed but all 3 made it to day five with my daughter resulting and my two day six frosties left to try ... I guess only time will tell. I'm 41 now so I don't think another fresh round is on the cards sadly 😞
Samoyedfan123... Huge congrats 🎉
