How long did you wait for semen analysis appointment?

All we need is SA test before we can be referred and we've just been told the next available appointment for this is the end of July.. I'm gutted as that is such a long wait. Has anyone paid for SA private and then gone for NHS referral?

Ours was a similar wait and it got pushed back twice, so we went private. Got same day results and took those to my GP and our referral was put through. It was about £100 (the nhs private route was £180 and a 10 day wait) @GreenDragon2

We got the sperm sample done through the NHS, prior to going private. There was a long waiting list, I managed to get through to the department. They tend to do sperm samples to check vasectomies have worked and for fertility. I explained that I’m worried about my fertility but we can’t be referred anywhere until the sperm sample is done and the lady said she’ll sort it out and we got an appointment through for a few days later.

My hub rang GP last week and got his SA booked in at a sister hospital in 2 week time as it was a shorter wait time, could this be a possibility? (On NHS) just waiting for his results then we can get referred 🤞🏻
