Hi all! Just wondering if anyone has any idea of chances of getting pregnant with a low amh (0.7). I am only 34 so this has been a big shock to say the least 😢

Hi @RHODXB. Do you have trouble conceiving and how long have you been trying? I only learned i had low amh after ttc unsuccessfully, I was told it shouldn't prevent natural conception as long as you ovulate. I don't know why I don't manage though, I did get pregnant and miscarried once.

RHODXB · 21/04/2021 17:38

Been trying since October with no success though I did have a chemical back in jan

it sounds like quite normal to have 1 cp since october indeed, so maybe you won't have problems conceiving as long as you are ovulating? I agree that low amh is a worry, if you do need to do ivf it is better to do sooner than later. I will be 35 soon and because of age will do ivf as no children yet!

Low amh as a problem on its own has no impact on natural conception. Studies have been done on it.

OP I was exactly you at the exact same age. My amh was 2.7 age 34 (that’s in pmol)- so it’s very low. Check your reading Is in pmol as there’s also another measurement - if yours is in the other measurement it’s not as low.

Anyway I’ve been pregnant 3 tines since this news. Once via Ivf which worked first time and two natural conceptions (one miscarriage).

One of the natural conceptions occurred after 1 month of trying when the ivf baby was just 8 months old.

So overall, it’s not the end of the world by itself but it does mean that you need to get a move on as you will likely run out of time quicker than other people (impossible to quantify though).

Oh no sorry about this, but you must be relieved that you can get pregnant. Next time it will stick!

Hello
I learned in December that I have 0.2 AMH. I'm 41 and for various reasons couldn't try until I was 40. I was refused NHS IVF and don't have funds for private. I understand that the chances of conceiving naturally with my AMH are approximately 4% per month so IVF wouldn't increase the chances as by the time they've got a couple of eggs out of me then got a healthy one, there ends up being hte same chnace that a live embryo will make it apparently. I'm taking some pointers from 'It Starts With the Egg' so that I least I'm doing everything I can to up the chances.
Really wish you luck and that one of these months you'll get a positve result that sticks.

RHODXB · 01/05/2021 17:04

I got a BFP this month! Totally in shock but shows it can happen! Keeping everything crossed it sticks and sending lots of positive thoughts your way too!

Wonderful news!

Ronnyrambler · 01/05/2021 17:29

@RHODXB have you been doing anything in particular (apart from the obvious) like taking supplements?

Victoriashope · 13/07/2021 13:17

Hello,

I'm hoping for a bit of advice, Im 41 with a AMH of 0.4. I have been in contact with clinics abroad that have given three different protocols.

1- clomid 150 and testosterone.
2- 300IU daily of Menopur
3- lomid 50mg x 3 pills per day
MERIOFERT 150IU or Menopure 150 iu ?
Folic acid 5mg per day
Melatonin 2mg per day at bed time

I have also had a call with TMC Healthcare who claim they can improve my AMH in 3 months

So I'm very confused by these options, the difference and if I should try TMC herbal therapy first

IndigoNC · 13/07/2021 14:20

@Victoriashope it's hard because different protocols work for different people so until you try one it will be hard to know what works best for you so you might be best to go with the clinic you have the best feel for.

I wasn't aware that AMH could be improved as women are born with all the eggs they'll ever have so how is this possible?

Victoriashope · 13/07/2021 14:24

I'm not sure they claim to balance the hormones to improve quality not quantity, they have good testimonies but then again they choose which they post!!

It's hard as all the clinics are not very optimistic and suggest DE but I don't want to go down that route. So they have given me the above protocols

IndigoNC · 13/07/2021 14:29

@Victoriashope it's definitely worth a try with OE as you might respond better than they expect but I'd go straight to IVF rather than spending time trying to improve AMH

Victoriashope · 13/07/2021 15:01

I have two clinics Reprofit in Czech Republic and institute marques Spain does anyone have experience of these. Both look good, Spain si a lot more expensive

Ilikeviognier · 13/07/2021 20:10

It’s impossible to improve your amh - you can’t suddenly get some more eggs so I’d be very wary of whoever has said this to you.

madharri123 · 29/07/2021 02:23

Hi there 👋
I was started on DHEA 25mg three times a day by Mr Rimmington at LWC. After 3 months my AMH had doubled from 6.2 to 12.6pmol/l. (Still not great). When I’ve googled it to understand why it’s because it causes an increase in antral follicles (which is how AMH is measured, rather than actual egg count).

NordicNell · 06/09/2021 13:39

My amh was 0.69 at the age of 32. I have endometriosis but managed to concieve with ivf even though only had 5 follicles. Now I have the most perfect little daughter. It is possible!
