I’ve just come back from a fairly disastrous round of IVF abroad where none of my 4 embryos reached blastocyst.
I did a round of IVF at ABC in London 9 months ago and I got two blasts from 5 eggs. I was 37 at the time. I got pregnant with one of them but miscarried, and the testing afterwards showed the embryo was chromosomally normal. The other blast hasn’t been PGS tested but is excellent quality and is still on ice. I also got pregnant naturally in December and miscarried again, this time down to a chromosomal abnormality.
I thought that given I’ve had proven ability to make blasts fairly recently I would at least have one or two I could send off for PGS testing this round.
I’m not really sure what to do next. I was thinking of doing a round at ABC’s sister clinic Create as the protocol and lab conditions seemed to work for me last year. Or should I accept my eggs are no longer up to it and I’ve reached my fertility cliff now that I’m 38?
Has anyone had a disastrous cycle which they were able to improve on?
