I had a fet last Thursday, I'm 5dp5dt today. Since 3dpt I've been light spotting, ranging from pink to brownish. This morning I've woken up to more, still spotting but heavier, pinky red in colour with the odd tiny clot. Now I'm having a panic thinking it's all over. I thought the progesterone would hold off a period, is this not right in every case? I will call my clinic when they open but wanted some reassurance in the meantime 😔

Just an update, my clinic have upped my progesterone from 800mg to 1200mg. Does anyone have any experience of bleeding in the tww and progesterone being increased, does this usually stop the bleeding ? I'm worried it's a period trying to break through.

Hi @elsaesmeralda I bled early in my fresh cycle but not in my FET, was it a natural or medicated FET? if medicated I would have expected the estradiol to hold off a period.

@Gardenlady543 thanks for replying
It's a medicated fet, I take 12mg of progynova and also have patches

@elsaesmeralda I’m pretty sure the estradiol holds off periods, my specialist mentioned putting me on a prolonged course in the future to build up lining. Since it was so early I would say it’s more likely that you bled from some mild trauma, I am quite sure it’s common after a transfer. Has it settled down at all with the increased progesterone?

elsaesmeralda · 20/04/2021 12:57

They've only upped them since this morning so I won't know until tomorrow maybe? So far since when I first woke up I haven't had anymore but I'm just worried whenever I go to the toilet. The nurse said it could be from the embryo implanting, I questioned implantation bleeding as I know it's actually pretty rare in naturally conceived pregnancies but she reckons it's more common in ivf. I guess only time will tell

@Gardenlady543 I also struggled getting my lining up hence all the extra oestrogen, it only got to 8mm but appeared healthy

@elsaesmeralda ohhh that would be good if it is implantation bleeding, seems to be happening at the right time too!

Bless you, I’ve having issues with my lining too, it seems to get up to a good thickness but I had an ERA last Thursday and my specialist said there wasn’t actually lining there when she tried to take the first 2 biopsies. I have a consultation with an expert in Ashermans tomorrow. I’m hoping for some answers.

@Gardenlady543 that must be so tough for you. How many transfers have you had ? Here's hoping it is implantation, I just don't want to get my hopes up

Yeah @elsaesmeralda it is so annoying, I am 18 months of ttc and an unsuccessful fresh and frozen transfer in, so to find out there could be a uterus issue now is annoying. But if I can get diagnosed with something treatable then that would be amazing.

elsaesmeralda · 21/04/2021 14:11

@Gardenlady543 it must be horrendous - I'm only in my first ever ivf (fet) and this is bad enough. But I do agree if it's something treatable then surely the only way is up from there? It would be good to be able to get something cleared out the way and then there should be no stopping you. Wishing you all the best in your further treatment and thanks again for your advice 😊😊
