Hi all!
I'm 37 years old with AMH of 2.8. According to doctors it is a unexplained infertility. After TTC for 9 years we have decided to go this route. We had a online consultation with the doctor in Jan and now have a meeting with coordination team in 2 weeks. Is anyone else sailing in the same boat?

What to expect in that appointment and what all to ask before the treatment? Can someone guide me please. Want to talk to someone who can feel what I'm going through.

Thanks.

Hi @Sun1984 - our first session was over 2 years ago now, at Lister in London, so I’m hoping somebody with more recent experience of starting the journey will be along soon. Are you NHS or private?

At our first session they explained the different options, and the full process for us. We talked about medication and timings and when we would start. Will you have already had your bloods etc done? If not they will probably do some then.

Wishing you all the best.

Hi @ Shamoo - Thanks for your response. I'm NHS patient. Already had my blood tests and discussed everything with fertility specialist in online consultation. We have been put for ICSI treatment after that. So was not sure what will be the next stage when we meet with the coordination team at Hammersmith.

Hi Sun1984

Have you already been given all the paperwork you have to read and sign? I had NHS IVF. I went to a patient information evening first of all, which was a presentation to maybe 20 couples (2019 so pre covid), and I was handed a folder full of info and consent forms. I don't think most clinics do it this way though.

We had to come back for our first proper appointment with all the paperwork completed. They were checked in front of us (good job because there were a couple of errors 🙈). We both had blood tests (for HIV and hepatitis if I remember correctly). I had already had my other blood tests done. Then a surprise transvaginal scan to check my antral follicle count! I always assumed a transvaginal scan was on the cards at every appointment after that 😂.

Then I had to call on the first day of my period, after which I had an appointment explaining what to do with the drugs and injections and I was given a schedule of dates.

All the medication was delivered and it properly began. I found it all exciting to finally be in with a shot of getting pregnant Smile

I guess what happens at this appointment will depend on what you've already had done (in terms of afc scan, blood tests, form signing etc.).

HI @Yokey- Thanks for your response. All of my tests have been performed. They sent us the forms to be completed and bring on the day. So, I assume from what you told that they will be checking our paperwork and will do the screening tests that day.
