Covid vaccine messing up my cycle?

Hello ladies, I was supposed to start a FET cycle 4 days ago but my period hasn’t showed up yet, which is highly unusual for me (my cycle is always 26-29 days). I have been reading more and more evidence about how the Covid vaccine (especially the mRNA ones) can mess up your cycle (including here: m.youtube.com/watch?v=A-TT689VSrM) and am wondering if this is happening to me as I had my first shot 10 days ago. I am supposed to get the seconde dose about a week before transfer and am now really worried I might jeopardise my FET cycle if my hormones are all over the place due to the vaccine. Should I wait a month? Should I go ahead? Feeling a bit lost here...

Hi, I would go ahead with your second vaccine and then also go ahead with FET when planned. You should be getting a baseline scan pre FET and hormone bloods done so if your hormones were off this should be flagged on the scan and your FET should be delayed.

For me personally if you definitely don’t want to do both close together it’s more important to delay FET and be fully vaccinated especially with having already gone through fertility treatment I would hate for anything to happen the baby if I was to get covid and also don’t want the stress of having to shield for an entire pregnancy when everything is opening up and I can finally see people again. I know it is hard to wait though when we’ve usually waited way too long anyway to have a chance to be pregnant but the new information on stillbirths from covid particularly worried me.

I would go ahead with the vaccine - it's so important for your health and for the health of others.

The risks of COVID, in my opinion, far outweigh the potential inconvenience of the vaccine.

Oh yes, I am definitely going to go ahead with the vaccine. Just wondering whether to dela FET or not... I just spoke to my doctor and she says better to wait at least a week after the 2nd dose before I start FET so I guess that means delaying. Ugh, more waiting....

When did you have egg collection?
My period after egg collection was four days later and I'm usually very regular also

A week before transfer is the minimum gap I’d leave. Did you have any side effects from the first jab? If so, I’d be a little wary of having a transfer too soon after as you want to be in the best condition to receive the embryo and not having some form of immune response.

I had my first jab 17 days ago and I’m about to start FET process in around 11 days time. I hadn’t heard about the vaccine possibly delaying periods, really hope that’s not the case, my cycles have already lengthened since I’ve been doing IVF.
