Natural Modified IVF

Hi All,

After 5 failed rounds of IVF and not getting any embryos to blastocyst we are considering a cycle of Natural Modified IVF. As we are not doing it with Create I wanted to ensure this is the right protocol.

I wanted to ask if anyone has had a protocol similar to the following and any success stories would be greatly appreciated:

Day 2 start stimulation drugs (gonadotrophins):

  • Clomiphene Citrate 100mg daily taken orally once a day for 6 days
and
  • Menopur 150iu daily by subcutaneous injection
> Day 5 of stimulation drugs [this is cycle day 6]
  • Start Cetrotide 0.25mg daily by subcutaneous injection.
  • Continue this until the day of hCG administration.
> Day 6 of gonadotrophin injections [this is cycle day 7]
  • Attend for scan and blood test
> Injections and monitoring will continue after this for a number of days until ready for egg recovery

Thanks xx

Hi there - I did natural modified IVF with Create

In its "truest" form mine was

tamoxifen tablets - I think 20mg twice a day from cycle day 3

150ml Bemfola every OTHER day - usually from cycle day 3 but this can vary depending on scan results/e2 levels

Cetrotide added in around cycle day 6/7 - again depending on LH/e2 levels

This was what I did for the first round. Got 2 follicles both fertilised and 2 blastocysts (these ended up being my twins) which was a major improvement for me (previously on short protocol 14 eggs per cycle each time less than 30% fertilised)

Round 2 the doctors thought might be able to get a bit more response so same protocol with the tamoxifen and the cetrotide but the Bemfola was changed to 75ml and instead added 75ml luveris (and did this daily) - I got 7 follicles with this again 100% fertilised and another 2 top quality blastocysts (which are still frozen)

Hi OP, I can’t help but I’m just here to see what others say with an eye on IVF in the coming months.

Interesting to hear natural modified worked for @ivfbeenbusy.
