Who can educate me on Day 5 Blastocyst

Hi

So I'm due a transfer next week of a day 5 frozen blast, don't know the grade but we have 9 in the freezer. I was just told that 6 of them are top quality so I'm guessing they will take the best one of them. This is my first ever ivf and first transfer. We've had issues with my lining being too thin but they've decided to go for it with my lining at 8.04mm.

How long does it generally take for a day 5 blast to implant ? Obviously starting to brick it now as just like everyone else going through this I really want it to work!
Also what does the progesterone do for the lining ? does it thicken the lining anymore ??

Thanks

Progesterone levels is positively linked to IVF success rates independent of lining thickness, that's why you've been given it for luteal support.

fertilityscience.org/low-progesterone-levels-directly-impacts-success-rates-in-ivf-icsi/

Mean endometrial thickness in that study was 8.8 ±1.5mm, so your in the ballpark.

HCG check maybe at 2 weeks and ultrasound at 5 weeks.

Try to not think about it too much, as hard as that sounds...

Lots of baby dust to you!

Implantation generally occurs 8 to 9 days after conception so for a day 5 blast it will be 3 or 4 days after the FET.

Good luck!

It may be a day 5 but it's also important to know it's stave - ie hatched, hatching, expanded etc - a hatched blastocyst might start to implant the following day, a less developed one might be a couple of days. Also being frozen means they can be a bit slower too

I transferred a fresh hatching day 5 and an expanded frozen day 6. Both stuck but there was a couple of days between them
In size so I'd guess that the frozen one took an extra 2 days to implant

There's a timeline listed here for implantation;

Good luck with your transfer, your lining is good.

Thank you for the links ! I don't know a lot about my embryos as to be honest havent been told much, but I know we had the embryo scope thing included so maybe I should ask for some more info once transferred

Hi just popping back to update as now have some more info, my blast was transferred today and it was an expanded hatching blast, not sure if that means it could potentially implant sooner but either way fingers crossed 🤞🏻
