Hi
I take currently 1000iu vit d three times a day. Does anyone know if this dose is too high while ttc/having ivf?

Sounds too high - I think 250 is normal dose, 1,000 is a high dose once a day. I take 1,000 once a day.

Ahh okay thank you. I've been taking that for probably about a year now but I will drop it down to 1,000. Dropping it down suddenly won't affect anything would it ?

Yeah, unless you have been tested for vitamin D3 deficiency (and so doctors have told you otherwise) generally in the UK they recommend no more than 1000 -2000 iu a day (depends on various factors - time of year, how much you are outdoors, your race, your weight etc).

Having said that in America I think they recommend up to 4000 iu, so I doubt taking 3000 iu in the winter months is doing you (or your fertility) any harm OP.

I was told by my IVF consultant I was low and to take 4000iu

Blueron123 · 06/04/2021 22:17

@elsaesmeralda I take 4000 a day

Don't know whether to just leave as it is? It hasn't been doing any harm that I'm aware of ! Maybe now it's coming spring I'll just drop it down by a 1000iu
