Back to back cycles or waiting for supplements to work?

I had an unsuccessful egg freezing cycle a few weeks ago. A few things could have gone wrong, as I've discussed on another thread, but one of the things I've been told to start (by doctors) is 600mg coenzyme q10 for 4-6 weeks. I have diminished ovarian reserve and am 34 so concerned about how long I might have to try the cycles too...

Now I've been told it's fine to go ahead with another cycle when my next proper period starts (probably around 20th April) as I would have been taking the supplement 4 weeks approx by then and maybe 6 weeks by the time of EC.

What does everyone else think or what's your experience? It's so hard having to make all these decisions alone...I feel like I'm torn between pros and cons of wanting to try and get this done before lockdown is eased too much that I'll be constantly worried about catching Covid and it being abandoned or it maybe just interfering with my ability to get out and meet someone (to date!) anyway. But I also want to give the supplements time to work (if they even do) and am reading It Starts With The Egg and hoping to make a few more of those changes too and it seems to suggest 3 months to give It more chance to work. But then the longer I leave it, the more chances of my ovarian reserve going down even more (Amh 0.8pmol)

Grateful for any thoughts/experiences...

I am older than you OP (40) and had similar issues to resolve recently. After a number of failed FET from a cycle two years ago, I did a fresh cycle in June, which went ok (3 blastocysts compared to 7 two years ago), then another in September (2 blastocysts) and decided to go again after one period (so early November). That final cycle went very poorly and I ended up with nothing. I then took a decision to take some time out, so had a break until this March to let my body rest, lose some of the ivf bloat, add a couple of new supplements, look after myself etc. March cycle went really well and I got 7 blastocysts in the freezer. (I am genetically testing them).

It may just be luck but I felt in a much better headspace and physically much better too when I did this cycle, so I do think the break worked for me. I worried a lot about egg quality reducing etc. But I read a stat that each month reduces success rates by 0.2% or something, and I decided that letting my body recover would outweigh it.

All of that said though, every clinic I have spoken to says you can go again after one period so it is the general advice.

Best of luck with whatever you decide.
