Hi lovely ladies! I'm new here, in my 1st attempt of the IVF, just got my 1st hcg on Tuesday (14 days after 5d transfer) and it's 103 ml. My doctor says this is a positive result but numbers are low for this date, and I need to retest on Fri. I'm already insane of googling if this is really something bad and what should I expect.... would appreciate any thoughts or support here! txu

Hi. Didn’t want to leave your post unanswered. Sorry you’re having to retest, it’s all so stressful isn’t it. Those numbers do unfortunately sound low (if I have understood the units correctly). Have you looked at the Betabase site for comparison? www.betabase.info/

If you are retesting today I hope you get the results quickly so you have more information. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome. If the numbers are still low then it could be a biochemical pregnancy. I have had a couple of these and it was really crap but I took a very small amount of comfort in knowing that the embryo must have made it past several important developmental stages and that implantation had happened. Wishing you the best.

@olipoli123, if i understand your dates correctly, it quadrupled in 3 days? That is excellent.
Conngratulations! Wishing you a happy & healthy pregnancy

Hi
When this happened to me mine kept rising because there is a pregnancy of some sort giving hormone off but the 434 number should have been the number you got the 1st time when it was 103 considering it was 14dp5dt
my 2nd go was which resulted in my daughter was 205 at 12dp3dt
Can you see what I mean
I really hope the best for you thought xx

Please come back and let us know how you get on. I've had two early miscarriages (6 and 9 weeks). In both cases my hcg was higher than yours starting off but did not double over 2-3 days. I was told the rate of increase is more important than the starting level and that was certainly true in my cases. Good luck!

Thank you @Galgal15, I will update when more info. I've also been told it matters the doubling rate the most, and initial low hcg can be because of the late implantation. I plan to retest one more time next week before the scheduled u/s. Keeping fingers crossed 💙

@shazzz1 by the way, can you share what was your initial hcg and how it did progress with the previous pregnancy? Thanks.

I had it all wrote down and when I had my girl it didn’t all matter anymore so threw it so carnt remember extant numbers but My 1st pregnancy what I lost at 10weeks first hcg was just under 100 and every other day I went for bloods and it was going up at it should but at the u/s there was everything there just a little smaller than should be and no heartbeat
Really hope for the best for you as no one should go thru this x

Sorry for your loss @shazzz1xx 💙 Seems under 100 is really in risk tho lots of articles say 76 ml + is a cutoff for possible success. And yes, not only rising numbers matters but doubling each 48-72 hours, that is smth I already know myself.

Sorry to hear that @olipoli123. It's a dreadful experience. Look after yourself, take time to mourn your loss and hopefully your rainbow baby will arrive soon Flowers
