Does anyone remember how long it takes to get the results of HIV and hepatitis blood tests? I'm waiting on these to get started with IVF and my GP seems clueless as to how long it will take. Been over a week already!

Thanks @Gardenlady543 Yep, the protocol was sorted and ready for us on Tues. Could have picked up the prescription, and quickly got norethisterone this week to control my cycle for an April EC. So frustrating!

I know what you mean, I can imagine the reassurance of mock cycle going as hoped will really help with the anxiety of a real cycle. Hope that your scan on Tuesday goes well for you.

What clinic are you with? They sound great.

Hope you're managing to keep occupied this weekend. IVF is all I can think about right nowConfused x

Beetroot juice? 🤢 Small silver lining that you no longer have to drink that!

I did everything right in terms of eating, drinking and exercise too. Like you say, it doesn't seem to matter. Infertility is so unfair.

It is great that you have good embryos waiting for when the lining issue is resolved though. Not that you have to consider yourself lucky at all. You can save that for when it works!

Is lining something that changes month to month? Are there more things to try?

@FingersXssd83 is there any chance you could get the meds and start now? Or is it definitely too late?

I’m with care, I have a nice specialist who takes on board my opinion and works with me on things which has been helpful. But I think Care overall tends to just stick with the same approach for most patients. When I said I wanted the ERA she said they normally do that fairly late on and my clinic has never done EMMA or ALICS before.

Gardenlady543 · 03/04/2021 12:09

Thanks @Yokey Smile there are a number of different medications that are used in people who don’t respond to estradiol, but everything comes with a risk. So I think for now it’s about sticking with the estradiol and hoping from the best. From the lifestyle side of things I’ve done everything recommended, in a way I’m quite glad the lining hasn’t done as well because it’s been no fun and I’m not sure how sustainable it is to continue to live like this!

Yokey · 03/04/2021 12:22

@Gardenlady543 that's certainly a positive way to look at it Grin At a time like this though, you really need to be able eat a bit of what you enjoy! I hope the estradiol works 🤞

@FingersXssd83 sorry to hear about the delay. That must be so frustrating when you know how long it took to get your first.

FingersXssd83 · 03/04/2021 18:52

Nope @Gardenlady543 That ship has sailed. Pleased to hear that you're getting tailored treatment at your clinic. We are with Care too and have been very happy with them.

Thanks @Yokey I'm considering doing a fresh cycle now instead of a freeze and maybe doing a freeze all later in the year. That way, I could get two ECs in while I'm on the cusp of 38. It's hard to know what to do.
