How to take Letrozole

I've been given Letrozol for my next cycle. The clinic want me to come in to do iui. They were being quite pushy about it so I just left it at calling them back to book in and took my letrozol prescription. We wanted to try naturally for a couple of cycles. Can I just take the letrozol on the set says they gave me and not do the IUI? They told me to try naturally as well as the IUI abs didn't say anything about a scan pre trying. I have a high AMH and follicle count. I don't want to accidentally get pregnant with multiples! The Letrozol is for late ovulation and a short luteal

I took letrozole this cycle as was supposed to be doing superovulation, so trigger with timed intercourse. I was on 7.5mg and haven't responded. I have 5 follicles, but no dominant yet, so I'm back for a follow up scan on Friday. Will they be doing any monitoring, like a progesterone test?

They said to call them after my period, but I'll have taken the Letrozol by then. I saw on another thread that people on clomid had been told to hold off after information from a scan. I didn't realise I needed a scan, if it even is the case that I do. @VenusStarr did they tell you about any side effects?

No real information about sides effects @CycleGirl20 but I have found I have had a low level headache everyday. I felt like I was ovulating in the first couple of days of taking it, just lots of cramps and twinges. I take my bbt and whilst I was taking it, my temps were in line with early post ovulation - I tend to get a slow rise. Once stopped, I have gone back down to my usual temps. But I'm having vivid dreams and I wake up about 5am sweating and generally feel hotter - my dh keeps saying he's cold and wants the heating on and I'm stripping off!

I would normally ovulate today or tomorrow and my follicles are too small and the doctor thinks it could go either way. Plus my lining was crap, 4mm (I thought clomid caused thin lining).

That's weird to call them adter your period, like you say, you start on day 2/3. X

Thanks. It's all a bit confusing!

Hi Girl,

Have you been diagnosed with PCOS or just irregular periods?

Monitoring is good to make sure your don't have twins, but that is generally done after your doses not before.

IUI is only recommended when the DH sperm quality is on the low side, in which case trying naturally may take longer on average compared to IUI.

Hi @Iszzy. I don't have PCOS. The doctor thinks I just ovulate late for some reason. My OH has low-ish form but otherwise he's normal. I'm not sure how far form matters.
